Awww ok, I remember Scorpion Releasing (or something like that) put out the DVD ( I have the hideous Rhino one). I thought I remember something about Kino working with them distributing or something....

KL Insider, does someone high up like Anthony Hopkins or is it just a coincidence that we're getting both the Nixon reissue BD and the Hannibal UHD BD from the company within a few months?

Regarding Johnny Cool - in the Scorpion thread I speculated that Walt might have picked it up, and he liked the post, which would suggest it is indeed coming from Scorpion at some point.

Not to derail the thread as I'm a huge fan of Kino and all of the solid releases they give us every month, but I know there has been some trouble with the audio on some of their Mill Creek re-releases, where their 2.0 tracks are actually Mono, unlike the Mill Creek versions which had Stereo tracks. Is there a list anywhere of the titles which are affected?

I know My Father the Hero was definitely one of them, but I have heard there are several others, but couldn't find a complete list anywhere. Just want to make sure I also hold onto my Mill Creek versions of these titles when I upgrade for the extras.

I notice an updated release schedule for June was posted on HTF (though I expect there may be more titles added in due course):

In many older films (most especially 'Scope films) the only sound track that exists is the mono optical track on a release print. Due to the short life of mag tracks, the multi channel tracks on prints, the master audio tracks, and the original stems are mostly all gone. Most of those "stereo" tracks you hear now from these films are actually faux, created with a few audio tricks and sourced from an original mono.

Any chance of Kino getting Catch Me If You Can (1989) for the 30th anniversary? Seems right up their alley. The damn thing never even got a DVD release. Sidekicks with Chuck Norris never got a DVD release either. It's ridiculous.

According to your online shop, last year's wave of Bob Hope films (Lemon Drop Kid / My Favorite Brunette / Paris Holiday / Road to Bali / Road to Rio) says "Only ships to US".

However, the new wave of Hope/Crosby films (Road to Morocco / Road to Singapore / Road to Utopia / Road to Zanzibar) says "Only ships to US & Canada".

Can you confirm that these latter films ARE available for Canadians to purchase through your online store?

I'm not sure how much Sextette would benefit from HD as it seems like they smeared vaseline on the camera lens for every Mae West shot but I would love a release of this with some extras and commentary......

We have no plans of releasing Sextette. And no other Mae West titles at this time.

Just a coincidence

We also have some cool early Hopkins, Juggernaut and When 8 Bells Toll. We also tried to get Silence of the Lambs.

None of these are with us. Geronimo and Chains of Gold are available in HD, the other three are not. Pretty sure all of these are still with MGM.
