I like all but one of Christopher Nolan's movies, I even love a few of them … but no matter how much everyone else loves it and tells me I should just watch it again and give it another chance … I can't get into Memento at all.

I've tried maybe three times over the years and while Guy Pearce gives a good performance and the movie isn't awful by any means, I just don't get the love it gets. To me it's just an average mystery thriller but has an 8.6 average rating on this site and is the third highest rated Nolan movie. Is it really that good and I'm just missing something?

Do you like Ravager better than the first one? I'm a big Phantasm fan and I found Ravager to be by far the worst in the series.

What makes it special is the "telling the story in reverse" gimmick, but it sounds like that didn't particularly thrill you.

As awesome as Avengers Infinity War was, I haven't seen a character so misinterpreted since Goku in Dragonball Evolution. Thanos is called The Mad Titan for a reason and it's got NOTHING to do with overpopulation. I know some people think it's cheesy that he wiped out half the life in the universe for "a chick". Those people don't get it. It's because that "chick" is the embodiment of death. You have to stand in awe of someone who would go to those lengths to gather that much power, to erase that much life, to woo death herself.

And beyond even that, his solution to the overpopulation problem absolutely, positively WOULD. NOT. WORK! If the MCU is finite as Thanos says, then cutting the population of the universe in half would only delay the inevitable. The population of Earth has doubled in the last 50 years. So even giving a generous estimate of 1000 years for the universe's population to get back to what it was before the snap then Thanos only bought a blink of an eye in the time scale of the universe.

This Thanos reminds me of DBZ Abridged Broly that Team Four Star did

Not sure if it's an unpopular opinion, but none of the adventure movies have ever come close to the greatness of Indian Jones quadrilogy so far.

I doubt that would fall under the category of unpopular.

...unless you think the greatness extends to Crystal Skull.

Welp, guess I'm adding Mortal Engines to my lil collection of sci-fi/fantasy box office bombs that were actually pretty cool such as Jupiter Ascending, Valerian and the City of 1000 Planets, After Earth, John Carter, Speed Racer, Chappie, Warcraft, and Gods of Egypt.

Mortal Engines is this decade's Waterworld.

Of what is being talked about now, Memento (2000) is not good and overrated, the same thing with Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Steven Spielberg isn't good either and vastly overrated as well. Same thing goes with anything to do with Indiana Jones, there's far more superior adventure films than those.

I'll add King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Pan, Jack the Giant Slayer, 47 Ronin and Battleship to the list!

Holy crap forgot those... except for King Arthur, was not a fan. Prefer the Clive Owen film, and Excalibur along with Sword in the Stone are my go to for some round table glory.

The Clive Owen one is great too but I loved Guy Ritchie's version, especially all the fantasy elements.

I'll also add The Three Musketeers 2011, Prince of Persia and 10,000 B.C. (yeah it's supposed to be based on history but it's clearly a fantasy/ sci fi too).

Yes both Musketeers and Prince of Persia were a blast. It seems like the good ole days of popcorn fun and escapism is just dying. Like it's pace' or something.

The Indiana Jones movies never really did much for me.

Gimme Romancing the Stone over any of them... any day of the week.
