Kino is a beast. Too many releases flying at us furiously. Those Godard announcements are great!

Amazing news. Think you should've used a different image for the Prénom Carmen cover though

Any word on the potential Dollars trilogy box set and if it is happening will it be the same discs or will the more problematic TGTB&TU and FOD get fresh scans?

I’m just not sure if I should pick up what’s currently out there or if I should wait.

I think it's still Criterion.

They said Criterion for the other 2 because they are still officially in print, non-SC, and never left Criterion.

Kino doesn't want to reveal/or doesn't know another label's pick up of a SC title.

These will replace three of the four films in the Lionsgate “Jean-Luc Godard Collection” DVD set, which leaves Passion (1982). Does Kino have this too, or someone else? I’ll probably keep that Lionsgate set for its cool cover and slip, but if it’s also the only way to have Passion I’ll definitely have to hold onto it for the time being.

Detective and Hélas pour moi are fine, but I wish they had gone a different direction with First Name: Carmen.

I like this Japanese poster. Studio Canal used the image for their release featuring the beautiful Maruschka Detmers.

May blind-buy Slayground during a sale. BIG fan of the "Parker" novels by Donald E. Westlake aka "Richard Stark".

I'm going to have to check this out as it looks like our library is a Kanopy member.

Is it coming from Kino or has the situation changed?

Can't wait for the Godards! Great to see CHANGER D'IMAGE included with First Name: Carmen; I would have liked to have seen a supporting work with each feature, such as Soft and Hard or Les Enfants jouent à la Russie. Hopefully Kino get Germany Year 90 Nine Zero on Alphaville.

Kino don't, which makes me think that it's with Criterion.

I'm probably going to import most of the Lakeshore stuff from Arrow as I prefer their overall packaging and presentation. They always seem to have the upper hand in the PQ dept. even though the same masters are shared between labels. And booklets are always a big plus.

That's a shame, hopefully some other label did.

Passion is no longer with Studio Canal, at least no the U.S. rights. Lionsgate is no longer streaming it on Amazon.

[Show spoiler]Color 104 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated PG
The robbery nobody thought could happen by the guys nobody thought could pull it off! The year is 1950, the take is $2.7 million, and the movie is The Brink’s Job, a high-spirited comedy caper which explores the lives of the men who pulled one of the most famous heists in history. Legendary filmmaker William Friedkin (The French Connection, The Exorcist, The Boys in the Band, Sorcerer) directs this gritty yet whimsical tale of a gang of smalltime hoods who hit the bigtime jackpot. The fine ensemble cast includes Peter Falk (Pocketful of Miracles), Warren Oates (Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia), Peter Boyle (F.I.S.T.), Paul Sorvino (The Day of the Dolphin), Gena Rowlands (Minnie and Moskowitz) and Allen Garfield (Busting). In short, The Brink’s Job will have you laughing all the way to the bank.

Awesome! Though I’m genuinely surprised Friedkin didn’t do an interview for this one like he did his other KL titles. Either way, the more Friedkin in HD fhe happier I am.

I sure wish someone (hint, hint) would get the rights to release Roger Vadim's vampire film, Blood and Roses. Really the first true adaptation of Carmilla from 1960. Looks like Paramount owns the US rights. Maybe in a future Paramount deal? Please?

One of the biggest holes out there. People have been asking for years. What is going on with this film? If Kino can "restore" The Psychopath, then surely someone can "restore" Blood and Roses, assuming that there's some sort of elements issue.

I was amazed to see Outcast Of The Islands (1952) with Trevor Howard on the Insider's StudioCanal list of '99'! I've been waiting for this one for a long time! First day for me.
