One of my favorite movies of all time, but I thought the video transfer was kind of blah. I was expecting better...

So fantastic that Shout re-released it with the Arrow remaster.

On occasion, I remember they had a large Arrow sale. Last year or the year before, I can't exactly remember.

Universal provided an awesome 4K transfer for their steelbook release, looks even better than their 1st release.

Universals Halloween 3 is much better transfer than Scream Factory's. The Universal release is near perfect picture and sound, but it has zero features on it.

Halloween III SF steelbook transfer blows the Universal PQ out of the water!

What slasherdisc said. The steelbook for 3 has the best transfer by far.

The steelbook was reviewed by the website and the Universal Blu-ray was reviewed by two users, one of which includes yourself. Kind of leaning towards an apples to oranges scenario.

The steel book is from Shout Factory, so it's the same movie. They change the artwork/casing just to nickle and dime us. If you want Halloween 3 in your collection, the Universal copy is the best, hands down.

By the way I never said anything mean or negative, just gave my opinion about a couple Halloween 3 transfers, but was out of the blue called a Troll by TripleHBK. Maybe he's the one you should be calling out.
Two members informed you that the recent 4k remaster steelbook release of Halloween 3 was the superior edition. You responded by stating...

"The Steel Book copy has a lesser rating"

To which again a user nicely corrected you by stating you were comparing two completely different sets of ratings, (the user ratings vs the professional ratings). You responded by stating...

"The steel book is from Shout Factory, so it's the same movie." Before later going back and editing your post to elaborate a slight bit more.

At that point it became apparent that you weren't looking to have a conversation, but rather to stir up trouble as any normal user would have taken the suggestions/comments of the other members to go look up what made the steelbook different and why folks would say it was the preferred edition. By making the blanket statement you did (even with your additional detail you later added after I had already posted my gif) it was apparent that you weren't going to change your tune and weren't really looking for quality conversation at that point.

The Halloween III collectors edition released in 2012 and the Steelbook released in 2018 are not the same transfers. While you may have had an argument that Universal's release of Part 3 was better than the 2012 scream factory edition, there hasn't been any debate that the new steelbook is the definitive edition of the film at this point.

My gif was a warning to others to not feed into what appeared to be utter nonsense spoke from someone that as far as most of us are aware, has never posted before. With that said... congrats, you still managed to pull me in.

when they mentioned steel book they didn't say anything about 4k, I assumed it was a Blu ray transfer they were talking about, Instead of attacking me like you have you could have been cool about it instead of insulting & calling me names

It's a Blu-ray release, but according to Shout the source is a new 4K scan from the original negative.

You have to understand, people come onto these boards all the time with crazy comments just looking for stir up trouble. If that wasn't you then I apologize for the troll gif. Again though, the way you chose to respond didn't reflect that you were interested in changing your mind so I assumed the worst... Again, if that wasn't your intent then I misjudged your comments and apologize. But to be fair... It literally says

"Halloween III: Season of the Witch Blu-ray (4K Scan)"

When you type Halloween III into the search bar on this site.

So I follow digital horror releases on JustWatch.com. Looks like Deadly Friend has a new HD transfer on ITunes for rent. That means we could get a SF release very soon.
