When most film lovers think of Robert Siodmak, they think about Phantom Lady, The Spiral Staircase, Criss Cross, etc. Cobra Woman is probably not at the top of the list.

Man I was hoping to get Storm of the Century on blu-ray, but maybe the elements aren’t accessible.

Was FRANKENSTEIN THE TRUE STORY ever bandied about as a potential TV horror? It wasn't ABC (it's NBC), but it is a Universal.

It's a Universal property, and I have a suspicion it may be with Scream, but if not presumably Kino could grab it in their next Uni deal.

I was watching Wes Craven's Chiller today, on a horrible DVD that was obviously sourced from a VHS (tracking kept futzing up, audio was often unintelligible) and wondered if there was any hope of that seeing a release on Blu (or even DVD if from a better source!)? I'd love to see a nice edition of it. For a TV film it was fun.

I think the remaining Universal list now stands as follows:

1930s - 1
1940s - 6
1950s - 4
1960s - 4
1980s - 3

So just 18 titles left to announce. And a few of those 40s titles (at least 3, maybe 4) will be of the Bob Hope variety.
We did not have the film at that point, we had to drop a title and were lucky enough to replace it with THE LOST WEEKEND. Later on, we even hinted at it when we were asked how many Wilder titles we had, saying three or four.

The 1930s title may or may not happen.

We only have 1 more Bob Hope movie now, maybe 2.

Lost Weekend replaced a title we lost.

Three other movies were also replaced and one the replacements was Siodmak's Cobra Woman.

It’s a pretty damn spectacular “replacement” title! I’d hate to find out what the title was it replaced.

If you watched an American DVD, it was not only horribly sourced but also probably cut down. There's a longer cut which was released overseas, but I don't think the quality is any better. If I remember right, Craven's initial cut was cut down once by the distributor and then further by the network, but maybe it was cut down by the network and then further by whoever put out the US VHS... I confess, I'm not a big enough fan to have fully retained the details, and I can't find much now other than a vague listing on the IMDb. I don't think Craven's original cut has ever been released, but the overseas cut is supposed to make a little bit more sense than the US VHS / DVD.

I can only hope Universal have kept their old TV movies in better shape, though all indications are that they have, which is something at least.
I disagree. I would prefer to know the titles so I know where we stand rather than hoping for something that can't happen at this point in time.

Speaking of TV movies, is Trilogy Of Terror II still on the table?

Also, any extras on Storm Of The Century to entice an upgrade over the previous disc?

Trilogy of Terror II has been a nightmare. We were told there were 25 cartons that we needed to scan, but later on we found out one of the boxes was lost. So what we ended up with is a mostly restored TOT II with some missing scenes. To complete the film for our BD release, we had to pull those scenes from the SD master and do an UpRes. In hindsight, we would've saved the time and money for something else.

Storm of the Century would be this times 4, 4 times the scanning, 4 times the cost and so one. We're porting over the audio commentary by the director from the previous release for our DVD release. There won't be any differences between the two releases, it's a great catalog titles that we're making available again.

KL Insider,

is LET'S KILL UNCLE still planned for a future release? I hope it isn't one of the dropped titles.

Yes, but it needs a brand new HD transfer and we haven't started working on it yet.

So 4 titles were lost, seemingly 3 of them Bob Hope ones. But I guess this gives hope to anyone who wanted a 40s title or a 40s film involving specific talent that was previously denied...

In the past the Insider has said that the deal included more Paulette Goddard beyond Reap the Wild Wind. This could mean the Hope title is The Ghost Breakers; however, it's also very possible that a Goddard title was among those dropped. Also, I do wonder if they'd release The Ghost Breakers without having The Cat and the Canary (which could well be the 30s title they're trying to secure).
