The Ghost Breakers needs a nice remaster and blu release. The transfer on the old Universal Bob Hope "Thanks for the Memories" collection is ugly (black crush, splotchy)! I'm happy with ANY Bob Hope on blu though. Hell I'll even take Call Me Bwana if ya got it!

Do you think the Kino release will have improved video quality or will it most likely be the same as found on the original release?

We only have 1 more Bob Hope movie now, maybe 2.
Wait, so no Supernatural?! That's too bad...

The 1930's title hasn't been announced yet. And won't be until they are sure.

Kino Lorber Insider,

Not looking to know what the titles are BUT...is there any chance these could be revisited by KL down the road? Or is this an elements issue where it's highly unlikely these will be tackled?

I really didn't need to know every title that was cancelled, was just wondering if any TV horror/thrillers were.

KLI can you at least say if the TV horror that was nixed was due to element issues or legal/other?

Not a big deal either way, I suppose, as no matter what it is we still aren't getting them.
Just curious.

Here's what he said a few pages ago.

Probably The Paleface because it already has a nice HD remaster available on iTunes/Amazon/Vudu.

I was just reminded of a facebook post I made two years ago (TWO YEARS?!!) about Kino announcing a pair of silent films on back-to-back Saturdays. The first was two WC Fields flicks and the latter two by Gloria Swanson. I really do wish that "silent Saturdays" had became a trend that stuck. I enjoy discovering "new to me" silent films almost as much as I enjoy going to see the latest and greatest big screen bonanzas released today. There's so much genuine creativity that was necessary to make that movie magic back then that has become blase formula in many respects today.

(Yeah, yeah, "get off my lawn." Good grief, I'm only 40...I'm too young to be this old!)

IIRC, Kino were planning to release 'Valmont' some time ago but the price being asked for the current HD transfer was too high, so they abandoned the plan. If the situation has changed at all, I would also love to have this film on Blu.

Yes, it was part of the list that was shown in this thread a while ago, so it's definitely coming. Really exciting!
