I am a huge Indy fan and I believe that 'Raiders' is the best action adventure movie ever.

I will always see Harrison Ford as Indy but he is too old now for the adventure story I would want to see. (Unless the 'Marvel De-age' him 30 to 40 years)

I pretend there is only a trilogy and Crystal Skull doesn't exist. (I saw it once and that was good enough) lol

A reboot is coming but hopefully they do not mess it up like they did Star Wars.

That's Lawrence Kasdan. Jon Kasdan was the writer for this.

In the Land of Women
The First Time
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Roadies

Haven't seen Dawson's Creek or Californication, so won't comment on those, but didn't like those other 3 at all, and found Solo just okay.

The general ideas of the movie? Mayan culture, aliens, 1950s BS, etc. I'm fine with.

It's some of the stuff they did between it that was just not too good. Fridge, monkey bit, etc. It was too far even for Indy. The alien stuff makes sense. That's not farfetched from where Indy came from as a context thing but other things? Yeah, a big bit wasn't right w/ it.

Raiders is one of the best films in cinema history but I also love Skull, equally as good as all the other sequels. It has the tones of both Doom and Crusade. They're way better than any other action-adventures of its kind that ever existed. And if Spielberg and Ford is still game, I'm always glad for more.

But now after a couple of writers couldn't crack it (I predicted Jon Kasdan will not deliver, I have no confidence in him) and Ford is getting almost as old as the old Indy in Chronicles, I say it's time to let it go.

Slash Film have updated their story. Some of the stuff what they posted was inaccurate.

More or less agree, aliens and some minor things aside, I feel everything up until the jungle portions of the film are pretty solid. This fight scene in particular I quite liked.

Oh, my bad.

Also, put me down for full reboot with another actor. Maybe have the movie begin and end with Harrison telling a story and the movie could be one huge flashback with another actor.

Just to clarify this further, they said what they reported about the original script was inaccurate but they 100% stand by Kasdan being removed from the project, and believe Fogelman is attached, but trying to confirm further.

I figured that was it , Lawrence would've been a good choice to write though.

Yeah, no harm for a reboot. But my adventures with Indy will be over when Spielberg and Ford quit. Already half-hearted when I know Lucas was not involved anyway.

Marvel doesn't exactly own the copyright to "de-ageing"

I think even better than a 5th movie would be an animated series. HF could still voice Indy and not have to get physical. It could be a great project for Disney+

Same. I never got that massive hate for Crystal Skull. It was a fun movie and has its moments.

What's the problem with getting rid of Lucas? What's the worst that could happen?

I agree (though I still want a 5th movie first, but only if they can pull off a really amazing one).
I don't ever want to see any future Indy films without Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones (that would be even more painful than watching Alden Ehrenreich cosplaying as Han Solo in the fan fiction film Solo: A Star Wars Story ).

An animated series voiced by Ford would be the only acceptable way for this franchise to go forward in my opinion.

I like Chris Pratt in some of the stuff he's been in, but he lacks the edge that is needed to play Indy. Harrison Ford can handle the humor in the movies just fine, but je also has a serious quality to him that I think Pratt up until now has not exhibited in any of his roles. Maybe he can, but thus far I haven't seen it.

Give it to Thomas Jane.

OK he's probably too old to star as a rebooted version of the character but he'd still be awesome.

Said it for years, but the pattern resembles star wars fandom too. Love the OT, hate anything else after. It's viewing something newer thru nostalgia goggles where the standards that they never really had at the time of the older films suddenly come into play. What they passed off with cavalier oblivion back then, is now looked at under a microscope with the newer addition. KOTCS does indeed possess the same ole spirit and feel of the classics regardless of how many try to discredit that. Indiana Jones has always had implausible moments, over the top flights of fancy, and an abundance of superstitious hocus pocus. I think relics of biblical significance is just as phony bologna as extra-terrestrial significance. It's ALL theories and conspiracies based from various different religions. Gods? Aliens? What's the difference? They couldn't handle "aliens" in KOTCS, because of preconceived mindsets where there is no "outside the box". Biblical fairy tales are more socially acceptable. Crystal skulls are just as viable a macguffin as holy grails and arks, just as mayan culture is just as viable as christianity. Indy Jones is escapism, nothing more, nothing less. When you try to put creative parameters on fiction and fantasy, you're just sucking the fun out of the concept. Indiana Jones dabbled in Atlantian theories in one of his books or a game not sure which... even that is no more ridiculous than what was in Raiders, Temple, and Crusade.

I think Pratt could pull off the serious aspect fine, I'd be more worried about whether he could portray Indy as an educated man. He's a doctor after all. Hasn't really played a role like that before.

Personally though, I think they should just end it after 5. This series doesn't really need a reboot.

I used to think Bradley Cooper would be good in the role, but he's not aging well. At this point, I'd like to see Harrison Ford back for one more film, and then the series can end, as far as I'm concerned. It's an iconic character. His character. I don't think he should be replaced.
