If you absolutely want to watch Gandhi this weekend, then yes, it is worth $20. But bear in mind that it is a Sony title and I can almost guarantee it will be available for at least $5 less in the weeks to come. Me, Im waiting.

Gandhi belongs in any serious collection. There are not that many great movies of great men. He was, and the movie is.

One of my Fav's

Both movies strayed so far from anything having to do with fact, they certainly shouldn't be classified as movies of significant historical value.

Remove them from your list and you regain all of your credibility!

To the OP----GANDHI is a no-brainer. And with today's emphasis on bringing CGI-induced flicks to the market, a welcome and refreshing change for an enjoyable movie night!

You do realise that in the movie Pearl Harbour, there were more Japanese planes in the sky attacking in one moment then what they had in their entire fleet during the full run of the Pacific War Pearl Harbour is so far from reality it's almost a insult to the veterans who were there

No, Gandhi is not worth a blind buy for $19.99. You will watch it probably only once. It will be $15 in a couple months. Buy it then.

What the....?!? I guess to each his own but this is the first movie I have ever triple dipped on. I now own it on VHS, DVD and blu ray. It's a move I have watched several times and am looking forward to watching again. Ben Kingsleys performance is masterful, the movie is emotionally moving and the cinematography is stunning. It won 8 Academy Awards (including best picture). If you've never seen it, buy all means buy it. For $20 it's a steal. (That's about what a couple would pay today to see it in the theater).

Are you serious Clark?

Side note.... I heard a veteran who was aboard the Arizona give a little speech (wasn't really a speech.... more of an informal story-telling) and he did some Q&A also..... either way.... it was on the observatory/memorial above the ship, and it was moving to say the least...... He probably told that story there a dozen times or so, and he still got choked up during the majority of it, so many years later....... crazy stuff.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you need to travel a little further west* to see the USS Arizona.
Craig

* Or East if you wish to take the scenic route.

Yeah... that PH movie was a bit of a travesty. All of the live action shots of the actual attack were filled with shots of ships that weren't even around during WWII. Too bad you couldn't match a movie like Tora, Tora, Tora with some of the CG technology that is available today... TTT might have had it's issues as well but for the most part it was a really good movie.
