What the....?!? I guess to each his own but this is the first movie I have ever triple dipped on. I now own it on VHS, DVD and blu ray. It's a move I have watched several times and am looking forward to watching again. Ben Kingsleys performance is masterful, the movie is emotionally moving and the cinematography is stunning. It won 8 Academy Awards (including best picture). If you've never seen it, buy all means buy it. For $20 it's a steal. (That's about what a couple would pay today to see it in the theater).

Side note.... I heard a veteran who was aboard the Arizona give a little speech (wasn't really a speech.... more of an informal story-telling) and he did some Q&A also..... either way.... it was on the observatory/memorial above the ship, and it was moving to say the least...... He probably told that story there a dozen times or so, and he still got choked up during the majority of it, so many years later....... crazy stuff.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you need to travel a little further west* to see the USS Arizona.

* Or East if you wish to take the scenic route.

If you have lots of movies to watch before the price may go down then go ahead and wait but if you are like me and very anxious to see this movie in HD, $19 is pretty cheap. It`s an amazing movie and looks great on Blu.

Just having a good time...... hopefully no offense was taken!

I'll continue to disagree with the cinematic significance of Titanic and Pearl Harbor though

I need to see Gandhi again.

On the Pearl Topic:
The Michael Bay movie was entertaining but sucked historically. If you want a good Pearl flick watch Tora Tora Tora!

Ive been to the Arizona and I swear its very intense. I wanted to cry.

Re: Titanic; that movie was very accurate after you strip the treasure hunters/necklace/love triangle away. The details of the ship and sinking were based on fact and testimony from survivors and documention. Its an incredible film

Yeah... that PH movie was a bit of a travesty. All of the live action shots of the actual attack were filled with shots of ships that weren't even around during WWII. Too bad you couldn't match a movie like Tora, Tora, Tora with some of the CG technology that is available today... TTT might have had it's issues as well but for the most part it was a really good movie.

i saw Gandhi the other day - when Gandhi is Fasten (spelling? - pronouncing?) at abot 1 hour and 53 minutes into the film and almost dying from it at one of the dialouge scenes there sounds like there is a audio -problem - is that on every disc or is it a result of the film or you know?

Absolutely!

Just have in mind that Gandhi is not an action film. It's a biopic.
Unless you're watching Gandhi II

I would never blind buy anything. That being said, Gandhi is a great film, I watched it on DVD a couple of years ago. For ME it's probably a once every 10-15 year watch. I know that's a long time between views but that's me. So renting it would best suit me, otherwise it would just sit on my shelf until the MEGA BLUE RAY DISC(melt your eyes!,kill your dog!) format comes out. I hope that helps.

A Steelbook will be wonderful!! One of my favorite movies. Besides some stunning performances, the background music makes me watch this movie many many times.
