Uglydolls is a hodgepodge of several other animated films (Boss Baby, Toy Story 2, Smallfoot) but isn't able to rise above it's own cliche bogged story to be anything other than another mediocre animated entry.

My $5 Tuesday 7:10pm showing was empty. It was literally just me. I expected some parents and kids but it looks like only I got bamboozled into it.

The voice cast really isn't even trying. They all just sound like they're reading their lines with no real inflection. I love Kelly Clarkson but she plays Moxie way too perky. Even during one of the films sadder moments, she's still too chipper vocally.

The song, except "Couldn't Be Better" and "Broken and Beautiful", are all D-level pop songs and aren't catchy enough to take off.

It's a 90 minute empowerment message for children but frankly, other animated films have landed that plane much, much better.

Thanks for giving us your take on it! It looks terrible! I was listening to a radio show the other day and they were saying that it could go down as the worst movie of 2019.

as a decent enough film for kids to enjoy. Certainly no Pixar/Disney. But better than something like a Norm Of The North. I give it maybe a 3.5/5. So I wouldn't think its as bad as critics say it is.

Honestly I don't understand why this is getting so panned... it's a cute little movie. What it lacks in originality and novelty it makes up for with cute characters and fun songs.
