No duh it's my opinion.

I'm the one posting it, arn't I. I didn't say I was speaking for anyone else.

Thankfully the way the Academy is... they most likely agree with me.

Maybe the air conditioning was turned up too high or something.

I'll stick with a decent incarnation of The Joker, Jack Nicholson's. At least those Batman films are good.

I do. And that wasn't The Joker.

And we all know the only way he'll win is cause of his death.

clearly you are just trying to get a rise out of someone. I wish you could find something more productive to do with your time. You really aren't contributing much to this discussion other than trying to take the opposite angle and you aren't even giving any reasons why. This whole thing about "he only wins cause he's dead" is just dumb my friend. Who is more deserving? That performance was absolutely original and he stole EVERY single scene that he was in. Pretty sure thats why he was nominated.
And I will bet you ANY amount of money you want that he will win the Oscar. You mentioned that the Academy agrees with you so he won't win. You are nuts. I'm serious, you name the amount and we can do paypal before Sunday night. I'll take Heath and give you the field. You will lose. His performance as the Joker defines Oscar.

Please, not ANOTHER of these F'n threads. If you think he did a great job, that's great. If you think he did a ok job great. If you think he did a crap job, great. Who cares what everyone else thinks. Do I care who gets an award? No, it doesn't affect my judgemant. Award shows are there to make money, just like any other program.

Nope I am with Beast on this, I think that he will win not for the performance but because of what happen and that is just the wrong reason to give him the Award

I believe Heath will win the oscar. I believe he deserves the oscar for his performance, not his death. I believe that there are those in the academy who will vote for him because of his death.

James Dean..... was nominated for best actor for his performance in East of Eden. After his death. He did not win. The following year, he was again nominated for his performance in Giant. He did not win. Two times, after his death, he was nominated for an acting award and did not win...... so, you just never know what may happen with the Academy.

RIP Heath Ledger ..... RIP James Dean

Again, no arguments there.

Have a heart on the situation.
This is where we disagree. Whether he died or not should have absolutely no bearing. IF (and it's an if in this case because I feel, like you, that his performance was the best in the category) the sole factor was that he passed away, voting for him because of that is not "having a heart," it's cheapening the whole process by voting out of sentiment instead of performance.

He was the best of 2008 as far as supporting actors go. Everyone went to the movies to see him.

Yeah! B/c he was dead. That is why i refuse to see it in theaters and buy it on blu-ray. The only reason i watched it is b/c sum1 bought it for me, and let me tell ya, its nothing special. Wat is the big fuse. O yeah, the chills that ppl realize that he is dead.

Clearly people are out of the loop regarding Heath Ledger. Many critics have come forward to state that they didn't vote for him just because he was dead. That's been said now, that's been said during the release. It's a damn shame that some people are too arrogant to think that his role might have been that - amazing. I also like how everyone views Academy Voters as "LOL HEATH's DEAD. WHAT AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!!11 LULZ!" It's as if everyone besides themselves are idiots, which strikingly is an illogical way to think. Not only that, it's a blanket statement. I'm sure I can say that the only reason Barack Obama won is because he is an African American. But that's not fair isn't it?

That's how I feel about the old Batman movies. Old pieces of crap that could have been made better by grade school students. But hey, we all know what you're trying to do... get a rise out of people. How many times have we seen you do this in a thread?
