I have no idea... they may have already casted him for all I know... I'm just saying I don't like the choice. I have not seen him in anything that would lead me to believe that he would be ideal in a role with 1+ hours of screen time. I just don't think he has the charisma to carry a movie.

Those actors were much more bankable in Hollywood with a proven ability to headline a film. They overcame their ages with that. Casting an older actor that is not a star already is a risky move.

Edit: I have to add that before Iron Man his highest grossing movies in order were: Back to School (1986) $91million Bowfinger (1999) $66million The Shaggy Dog (2006) $61million So no, he wasn't a bankable star before Iron Man. He was not the headliner in any of those. As far as Edward Norton goes: Italian Job (2003) $106million Red Dragon (2002) $92million The Score (2001) $71million Norton was not the reason people went to those movies either. The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man are their highest grossing movies. I just want to add that I've always liked both Downey Jr and Norton. I'm just stating the facts. Whoever Marvel chooses I'm sure will be great. I have no reason to doubt them at this time. Last edited by GreenScar; 02-22-2009 at 03:01 AM. |

Those would be the highest grossing movies for most any lead actor not named Will Smith or Harrison Ford. Norton and Downey, Jr. had headlined very profitable Hollywood movies for years before playing superheroes. Neal McDonough is a nobody compared to those two actors in terms of box office or reputation.

Some new Captain America news on CNN.com that covers both Captain America coming back in the comic and a bit on the movie.

The issue on Cap's death is what brought me back to the comics. Before that I think the last comic for me was back in the early to mid 90's. My last comic book series was the death and rebirth of Superman. I'm just hoping that Marvel doesn't follow the formula DC used for Supes return.
