How’s the transfer?

MVD sales are always amazing. Wish I didn't already own most of these, but I was able to grab 4!

I wonder if Windtalkers and Basic Instinct 2 are still coming with slips?

Yeah... we searched high and low. It was either that or nothing.

I basically begged "S'more Entertainment" to let me oversee the artwork for this one. I wanted to make sure it had the original key art. As far as extras were concerned, they didn't have a budget. Not a bad flick, though.

Again... sorry bout that trailer.

So unless the studio does not want or could not deliver a trailer, then MVD would have no choice?

The trailer for Lionheart, in particular, looks atrocious on disc.

A lot of weird stuff with the menus and the way the discs are set up. Maybe as MVD grows as a company, their QC will also improve and their menus, disc art, etc. will improve. I remember Shout!/Scream had pretty awful menus and weird authoring ticks on their first discs, and although they've still got QC issues now, their menus are pretty lean and mean, and they've always been masters at keeping discs art-friendly and not what Kino does which is make spines and discs look like weird, off-brand library copies of movies you love.

All of that being said, how much can I nitpick and complain considering the information gleaned from the new featurettes and having some awesome flicks in pretty decent HD (for the most part) is all thanks to MVD as well.

As a Jean-Claude Van Damme fan, I can't complain too much.
I agree with the Lionheart trailer. After that disc came out we did actually get a better version of the trailer (in full 1.33:1) but the quality is MUCH better. I use that better trailer to promote the film on subsequent releases.

I love Kino, but not crazy about the spines. So generic.

I'll work on the menus and the QC. Thanks much for the support, though.

My uncle owned 3 video store back in the day before Blockbuster bought him out and he retired at 40. It would be really cool to see his old video store sticker on one of these boxes.
DUDE... DM me. I love legit Video Store labels. For "My Samurai" I literally took a picture of a plastic Easy Video shopping bag and turned it into a "sticker". For "Hometown Video", I worked there back in the 80's & 90's so I used my old membership card and made it look like a sticker. For the others, I look to see if the copyright is expired. SO... DM me so I can send you my email and you can send me that logo! Let's honor your Uncle's video store.

Thanks much.

I didn’t notice any issues. I wasn’t blown away but I thought it was good. It’s hard to tell without seeing anything to compare it to. I’ve only seen this edition.

@MVD Rewind Guy,

Any more Imperial Entertainment titles besides Mean Guns, ...you know..
the ones I want:

1990 Ulterior Motives (Thomas Ian Griffith)
1998 Sanc+uary (Mark Dacascos)

And any more licensing deals? Besides Imperial, MGM and the Yari Group titles.

I do want more of the FilmRise titles that star the action icons; Van Damme, Lundgren, Sragal, Snipes and Lambert. I still feel that you would of treated the Mu Image/Millennium Films titles better than how Echo Bridge/SP is treating them.

@MVD Rewind Guy Great to see you back. Was watching theatrical version from NEMESIS a few days ago with 1.78:1 open-matte (only way to go for me). Thought that the transfer was surprisingly decent, and the extras really good. I still got to watch The Director's Cut and Japanese Cut at some point. Damn you with those beautiful slipcases and GREAT stickers, those are for me like drugs to some poor souls. I do hell hope that you could start producing REAL stickers for those slips as SOON as possible. Dare I hope... With SPLIT SECOND perhaps?

The sale is good but too limited (at least for me) to reach the Free Ship amount. Also the website is rather frustrating to navigate and find simple stuff like blu rays

So much LIKE on this comment. I buy KINO releases if I really have to. How can you release so many good titles (that includes the original artwork) and yet you can even bother to commit fully to said artwork and use black background with boring white lettering as your spine for all your releases.

Looks ugly as hell in your movie library.

Boggles the mind.
