Arrow Donnie Darko Sequel Trailer

^Click for trailer

Quote:
The full-length trailer for the upcoming "Donnie Darko" sequel has appeared online. Entitled "S. Darko," the new movie has very little to do with the original and will go straight-to-DVD on April 28th. Check out the trailer below.

Plot: "S. Darko" takes place in the summer of 1995, seven years after the original film. It follows Donnie Darko's younger sister, Samantha, who, in the wake of his death, has found herself at age 17 with a broken family, mired in feelings of insignificance. She and her best friend Corey set off on a road trip to Hollywood in a bid to 'make it big', but their journey is cut short when their car breaks down unexpectedly, leaving them stranded in a small desert town.

When a meteorite happens to crash-land nearby, Samantha is plagued by bizarre visions telling of the universe's end and it appears that their breakdown was part of some grander plan. When she finds out she was actually adopted by the Darkos, and that she is in no way related to Donnie, she must face her own demons and, in doing so, save the world and herself.

I just don't know. I think this movie is going to be average at best. No sequel should have ever been made.

Blah, what the hell was that? The Special FX looked like Prehistoric Fight Club on the History Channel.

Straight to video market has really ruined the movie industry in my opinion. A lot of these crap sequels would have never been made. i do have to give the Marketing people credit on how to make a quick and easy buck...

Donnie Darko was like lightning in a bottle, you just can't throw some Sci Fi channel actors and some Abyss effects onto film and hope for the same results...

Just Dumb.

the first one didn't even break its budget in the WORLDWIDE box office , but gathered such a famed following you can bet studios are hoping to reap profits off of a sequel

Wow, so we get a sub-par Blu-ray release of Donnie Darko, and as if that wasn't bad enough, we now get a sequel that truly looks like crap. Ah well.... Can't win them all.

This sequel (and sequels in general) should never have been made. Just dumb, dumb, dumb.

Again, why not do a sequel to Gone with the Wind or Casablanca while they're at it.

What's next a Donnie Darko franchise? Special promotions at Burger King? Donnie Darko X - Donnie in Space?

Agreed. Sequels are no good! Finding a worthy sequel is like finding a needle in a hay stack.

People claim it's no different from the DVD as far as picture quality goes.

I disagree. I liked the Blu-Ray version a lot better then the dvd. What type of equipment are people using to watch their blu-rays to say they are no better then the dvd? Also do people realize that the transfer is only going to be as good as the film it was shot on? I can't wait for people tearing The Wrestler apart when that is released.
