I agree that the youtube comparison is wrong. There is a slightly cooler tone to the image, but the Joker does not look green unless your settings are off. The clarity is a revelation though. The movie has never looked this good.

Watching this right now and this is gorgeous! Haven’t popped in Batman Returns yet but really impressed with the PQ of Batman (1989)

Just finished watching it and it looks marvelous. I don’t mind the re-mixed audio at all. This movie never sounded better IMO. I think it’s one of the better re-mixes, above The Terminator, Jaws and Superman The Movie. I did put the old blu-ray in the 4K case just incase I ever want to revisit the original soundtrack audio.

I actually like the new Sound FX..

One of the things that has always drove me nuts about the film was the stock sound FX that were used. Sounded cheap.

BUT WB should offer the original track.

I get it.. I hated what they did with the JAWS DVD sound. So happy they added the original to the blu ray.

Much of The Terminator is awful also...

Batman was handled much better IMO.

Looked pretty good. Haven't seen them since maybe DVD, possibly VHS. The movie really doesn't hold up for me, sadly, but seems like something fans would be happy with. Threw in Returns for a bit and decided to save it for tomorrow night, but that one looked stupendous so far.

That green wash in the youtube video isn't present at all.

I got my copy and it seems they replaced only the stock sound effects, like gunfire, explosions, Batmobile shields and the electrical arcing when Napier sabotages the controls at the Axis factory. Even then, when Joker shoots Grissom most of the same SFX are there.

A lot of the original sound design is intact, like when Batman fires his various gadgets and such, Grissom's penthouse elevator, cathedral bells and various other foley effects.

And it looks like Elfman finally got his wish - the music probably benefits most from the Atmos soundfield mix.
