Nice. As with the TF UHDs they appear to have toned down the gaudiest excesses of the classic teal and orange Bay colour scheme, and the BD has had a touch of detail filtered off as well.

I don't have the 4K, but the movie is excellent. My Blu has the Atmos track which is also excellent.
I'm certain that won't be disappointed.

Definitely agree! Also, the extended scenes are such a great enhancement to the film. Can’t believe they made an already amazing film so much better in every way!

But it still comes with *a* Blu-ray disc, just not the main movie disc. They could've easily put the main movie platter in there, dropped the extras BD and sold it for the same price, so not including the movie BD means **** all IMO. And personally speaking I like having the previous transfer for reference.

I see your points.

I really don’t put in the time to A/B compare. If I’m buying a 4k + blu-ray combo though, the UHD “should” be all I need to see. Scary thing if the BD would be better. All I personally need to see is the better one. I know many people don’t think like me though.

Would like to hear what other people think as well. Looking forward to seeing this in UHD nonetheless.

Well, I haven't upgraded to 4k yet, but have boughten a few 4k releases to future-proof. Dropping the bluray disc obviously makes me less inclined to do so. When I do upgrade though, I would prefer for the bluray to still be included, as I like owning a backup in case I want to loan out the film, or the disc gets scratched.

I agree that this looks amazing, although it is a vastly different looking film than Black Hawk Down so I’m not sure it’s an apt comparison. But this absolutely holds its own compared to every other digitally shot military movie that’s been released on UHD from both a sound and PQ perspective. Obscene detail and contrast, outstanding black levels and tons of pop. I had to listen at fairly low volumes but even so it was clearly a cracking mix. Demo material all around.

Vudu still doesn't have this in 4K and I already have the HDX version. Since this is a Paramount UV title, should I wait to redeem the code until the 4K version is available, otherwise I'm stuck with the HDX version if I redeem it now?
