Harry Novak parted company with SWV, so I don't think that THE TOY BOX would come from them. Perhaps the AGFA group could strike a deal with Novak?

I saw THE TOY BOX at a drive-in theater in 1972, along with SOUTHERN COMFORTS, another Novak release.

AGFA has detailed their upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release of Scary Movie.

But is the haunted house as harmless as it seems, or has a psychotic mental patient found a new stomping ground? Shot in Austin, Texas, Scary Movie combines Argento-esque neon, Freddy Krueger dreamscapes, and slapstick inspired by Evil Dead 2 to forge a valentine to Halloween, rubber monster masks, and chopped-off limbs. From the songs by Roky Erickson and Butthole Surfers to the surrealistic mood, this is a true discovery for adventurous horror-heads.

AGFA and Bleeding Skull! have detailed their upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release of Wicked World. This marks their first Blu-ray collaboration (and fourth overall).

Description:

Virtually unseen until now, Wicked World is not only Gillis' 1991 follow-up to Things -- it's also a new form of genre anarchy. Grant Ekland (Gillis) is a cop who is haunted by the death of his girlfriend at the hands of a psychotic slasher named Harold. When Harold is released from an asylum, there's only one option for Ekland: revenge! Filled with metal riffage, gnarly ultra-violence, and experimental techniques, Wicked World feels like what would happen if Salvador Dali injected acid directly into his brain while staring at a Cannibal Corpse LP cover. This is a highly personal treatise on the toxicity of society from one of the most singular filmmakers in trash-horror history. If you survive Wicked World, you'll never forget it.

Please note that Wicked World was shot on 16mm film and edited on tape. This transfer is taken from the original 3/4"master tapes.

The tentative release date is November 12th.

The first wave of Fantastic Fest programming has been announced, with quite a few new AGFA preservations, including She Mob in collaboration with SWV. Hopefully that means a blu is in the pipeline...

Isn't the hurdle with Novak's stuff that there are now ridiculously high licensing fees being asked?

I'm watching Mary Jane's Not a Virgin Anymore for the first time... I'm a male who grew up almost a decade after Sarah Jacobson yet this film is resonating so much. Not sure how much I'll want to revisit it but I do wish this is the type of film they showed in sex ed....

This arrived today and I watched it for the first time...It's as if someone grew up on the disney skeleton cartoons (the pre-mickey stuff), German expressionism and kept up on horror tropes... and then watched some Argento, Fulci and Henenlotter films on acid and decided to make a PG regional horror film in Texas....
For those who like slow but utterly unreal horror, grab this now!

edit:
Wait.. so Roky Erickson is on the soundtrack (along with the holy Butthole Surfers!). Was he related to the director, Daniel Erickson?

What’s the status of all the Doris Wishman titles that Something Weird used to release? There’s a bunch of SW stuff that hasn’t been released yet, and a lot of these are at the top of my wish list.
