^^^ Glad to hear it fellas. I have a tip that some of the new Pioneer owners might not know??? Since there is nothing in the Pioneer TV menu to be able to see the refresh rate, theres a "trick" to see that purrrty 24Hz

1.Select HDMI input
2.Press Home Menu
3.Enter Setup
4.Enter Option
5.Enter HDMI Input
6.Select PC from the Signal Type submenu
7.Exit menu
8.Press Display to see the refresh rate
9.go back to step #1 and change Signal Type back to Video (make sure to switch back to video!)

Hope this comes in handy to all the Pio owners!

How much did it set you back?

EDIT: BTW, anybody know how to get the 5020FD to default to Dot by Dot? It seems to go back to Auto every time I change inputs and so far I haven't seen an option to set a default.

3 1/2 benjamins and worth every penny! i was left totally satisfied. its really amazing the difference a calibration does. whites actually look white. blacks are even deeper. the image pops out at you. i honestly thought there wasn't going to be much of a difference but there is. if you think the picture looks great now, it gets even better. so if you have the chance of getting it done, do it definitely! it will leave your tv looking perfect!

How long did the calibration take? Did the calibrator touch the TV or was it all done with the remote?

I considered calibration for a long time, in fact I contacted D-Nice to get a quote, but I had a hard time believing I would notice a huge difference. Afterall, how do you make what's perfect to me, more perfect? It's like the saying "what's infinity times infinity"?

I'm always happy that people do see a huge difference though, because in the future I probably will go for it. In the mean time, I'm saving-up my money to continue in my never ending effort of upgrading and going broke. Next on my list is an external amp and setting-up a dual display set-up with a projector and 90+ screen!

Also, I'm a fellow hispanic but have not resorted to drug dealing to support my addiction ...........yet

So what do you guys all live near D-Nice or what?

I'm just afraid to drop money on a claibration as I've seen many a time someone say not all calibrations are made equal and I'd hate to drop that much money and then feel shafted.

Maybe when I'm feeling a little braver I'll try the service menu hack and hopefully I won't blow up my TV in the process.

no, he was just doing a tour down here in south florida this weekend. d-nice knows pioneers inside out. he practically is the pioneer guru haha. you wont be disappointed if you get your tv calibrated by him. but if your brave enough definitely try to give it a go and do your own calibration. any problems you run into you can even ask d-nice he will be more than willing to help you. believe me your tv will look that much awesomer

Probably a good idea. If I could go back in time about a month to when Amazon had the 6020 on sale for around $3200, I totally would get that over the 5020.
