Default Thinking about buying the Orange Box PS3...

Thinking about buying the Orange Box PS3. Even after the patch, is this version significantly inferior to the 360 version? And I'm not really worried about the value so much. I would like to hear opinions as to how comparable are the two after the PS3 patch, please.

I bought it at one point just to play Portal. And Portal ran just fine. I had a blast playing it on the PS3.

My understanding is that it's the Half Life 2 portion that was ported really badly.

you will love the game...most of the people who talk smack about it haven't even tried it.

for the price, this game is worth it on all counts.

Portal is good on the PS3

HL2 is PC

The Orange Box is an awesome collection for PS3. There's only a couple places with frame drops, and they're pretty much isolated to HL2 Episode 1. From what I noticed, the rest of the games are fine.

IMHO this is a must buy collection for PS3 owners who like first person shooters. I've been a huge fan of the Half Life series for years.

I loved the Half Life series on The Orange Box! This was my first experience with the game and it was awesome. Some framerate drops like people say but I found more drops in the original FEAR on PS3. Half Life runs like a charm compared to FEAR.

Can't beat the price on the collection either. $15 new in some places!!
Here's hoping the next episode or better yet Half Life 3 is released on PS3 in the future!

also, they have since released a patch that clears up most of the framerate issues and loading times in Portal....most people tend to omit this little bit of information when they are lambasting it.

If you look at the ops original post he knows about the patch, and no has yet to "lambast" the game in this thread.

I played it on the other system and loved it espically Portal.
I suggest picking this up, I heard HL2 still runs a tad better on 360 post patch, but both fail in comparision to the PC version. Portal is the same on the two. TF2 is the best on PC, then the 360, followed by the PS3, or so I heard. I am not sure though cause TF2 was the only game I didn't play.

Anyway I still think this is one of the best bang for your buck games, and if I didn't already play it I wouldn't hesitate picking this up on PS3.
