First, Marsai Martin has a bright career ahead of her in comedy. The way she’s able to portray a 30-something woman stuck in a 13 year olds body while still retaining that sassy attitude Regina’s Jordan has is great. They clearly worked together because their walk, their talk, posture, etc. Everything matched up.

Secondly, Issa Rae! She and Marsai’s chemistry together was off the charts. They were dynamic together. Issa also has great comedic chops because she has a lot of one-liners that fly under the radar that are hysterical.

Like I said, the film wraps up in all the cliche’d ways but it didn’t detract at all from my enjoyment.

I won’t tell you to rush out and see it because my opinion is probably more biased because I love everyone involved but it’s worth checking out when it hits streaming/dvd.

I enjoyed it but it should have been funnier. Still a cute movie though. I'll buy the blu when it drops to $10.

Meant to be a little joke as that poster has admitted bias with many movies before this. Guess it didn't come off that way.

I haven't walked out on a movie since 1973. This movie Sucked. I didn't think I would ever see a movie less funny than Homes and Watson but here we are. The cast was good but the writing, pacing, editing, whatever else makes up a movie was terrible. People that say they liked it are lying.

What was that movie from 1973 that you walked out on?

Took over 4 decades to walk out of a movie. Not bad at all.

American Graffiti. My mood played into that one a bit also. I hate not finishing a movie normally, no matter how bad it is. I even sat through Holmes and Watson hoping it would get better.

Yeah, but if the movie's not getting any better and becomes outright intolerable, you just have to cut your losses and tap out.
I walked out of Spy hoping that would get better but only got worse...and I saw it for free.

Has your opinion of American Graffiti changed since?
I saw this a bunch of times in '73 (and many times since) and not sure what theres not to like about it.
And since I wont be walking in to see Little, I dont need to worry about walking out.

I haven't seen it since. I just wasn't a fan of the time period or the music and I couldn't stand Wolfman Jack. I'm sure it was a better movie than I insinuated. I was pretty young at the time. It was just showing how rare it is for me to give up on a movie.

I know the feeling there. The putrid state of pop music is the reason that I stood away from movies like The Greatest Showman and Teen Spirit.

The movie's bad but surprisingly I didn't hate it. It's mostly due to Regina and Issa which I found them decent enough to keep watching. Plus I've liked Regina since her Scary Movie days so I needed to check this out regardless. Needless to say there are some funny moments in this, not gonna lie. But the whole premise is done so blandly and lazy.

The editing in this is sloppy as all heck though.
