I finally waited patiently for a sale and it paid off. Baby, The Rain Must Fall, with my boy Steve McQueen, and my girl, Lee Remick, plus $2.00 off from February, for taking part in a survey.

Nice way for this retired old fart to wake up.

Bummer. I would've picked up a bunch of TT blind buys if it was a better sale. Something like WA's 4 for $44.

Exactly the same here. I have quite a few titles I've been holding out on for a good sale. I'll continue to hold out. Indefinitely if I have to, because it's a no-sale at these prices. Ridiculous. And I'd have dropped $150 - 225 easy at $15 a pop. So, so disappointed.

I really want to grab Melvin and Howard and Talk Radio (along with about a dozen other newer titles) but it's tough to bite unless the titles are $20 or less.

I've got funds set aside for the upcoming Kino sale too. No cigar Twilight Time.

It looks like they are following the Shout/Scream model for sales now. At least those are usually packed with extras. Hopefully the numbers from this sale will be a wake up call to TT to bring back the proper sales of the past......

Was interested in this sale until I saw that they’re still $22. There’s a couple TT titles I still want that haven’t sold out here, but I’m not paying that much for barebones releases, so no thanks.

I placed an order for 'The Bravados' this morning and the order status says 'manual verification required'--anyone know what this means and what if anything I have to do?

I wonder if Nick Redman was the driving force behind the really good sales. Since his death, we’ve had three sales, none of which have been nearly as enticing as previous years. Even the last 15/15 sale had titles that were priced cheaper in previous sales or the 7/70 bundle. Maybe they don’t feel the pinch anymore or the need to have so many sales with rock bottom prices like they used to.

Perhaps, but regardless of the reason, they're going to be sitting on mountains of unsold stock if they don't drop the prices back down to more reasonable levels.

Yeah, the lack of a free shipping threshold really does stop me from ordering more TT titles in general.

Me, too. I know we're all tired of discussing/debating Twilight Time's business model, but you'd think they'd have figured out that offering some kind of free shipping threshold would encourage people to pad their orders and spend more money. In the long run, it would generate more revenue than it would cost them.

Or, at the very least, offer a flat shipping rate. It certainly shouldn’t go up if you order more titles. Why discourage people from ordering more? Especially since media mail doesn’t work that way.

Aren't Screen Archives are the ones who decide on the promotions and prices on the sales hosted on their site based on what titles they're holding in stock? IIRC, in the past we've had concurrent offers on SAE and TT's sites with different price points at least once.

I'm in Canada, so free shipping is rarely an option for me anyways, though if they did offer something like free shipping to the US for orders over $50 and free shipping to Canada for orders over $100 that would be a huge incentive for me to buy more of their titles, even at non-sale prices.

It's now July and I've bought just two Twilight Times this year, one of which was on sale during their only 15/15 sale of the year and it was only because I was buying the Smokey and the Bandit sequels from Screen Archives. In the past I've bought tons of them.

I'm not sure about that. The sales are always concurrent and I don't think there's ever been any differences in prices. The only discrepancy is that sometimes there are titles sold out on one site, that are still available on another (Places In The Heart being one example from the Oscars sale earlier this year).

You say that, but Don't Bother to Knock appears to be very low stock already despite having never been in a decent sale.

It was in a $15 sale in October of last year.

Low stock alert listed is for the Twilight Time website, which gets only a fraction of what is generally allocated to the Screen Archives store, where there are likely significantly more.

I would like to see something like maybe a $5 flat shipping rate since that would be affordable. This is one of the worst sales I've seen. Luckily I got many of these titles in sales last years. The only one I would've liked to got was Don't Bother to Knock but not at that price. Holding out that Indicator will release many of these titles.

I think it’s hard to top Shout’s 5% off sale.

I've wondered the same and I'm not sure who the primary driver for the releases is now since Nick passed away.
