It was rushed, but they were in a race against time against streaming and they knew it (Sony were pushing for 4K disc to be released in 2014!). Besides, DV was never going to be a mandatory standard for disc because of the objections of folks like Fox and Samsung, who coincidentally devised their own dynamic metadata format between them a few years later.

I really am grateful that 4K disc has gotten this far, though having a TV that doesn't choke on HDR10 has been a massive help with that. And we still don't know exactly why Disnee are holding out, even with the Pixar thing that I mentioned. Perhaps they feel that the full enhancement layer process is too tricksy but the minimum enhancement layer process delivers is too weak sauce (though that doesn't stop them from being DV-crazy on streaming, natch).

Yeah, that $210 order for the 6 UHD steelbooks is really going to kill the monthly allowable bluray budget.

Although that along with the July orders will push me into the 200 4K Club.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but why is Vision dead centre on the steelbook?

He didn't even return in this movie.

Wife and I are trying to pay off all our credit, so I have a pretty strict $50ish a week budget for fun stuff. Since I buy games too that makes it pretty tight, and to get $180 worth of UHDs I'd have to buy literally nothing else for the weeks before and after it. Haven't looked at the release schedule in a while but I doubt that's doable.

Luckily I don't really care about slipcovers, so I can get them anytime. I haven't even watched Captain Marvel yet so I guess I should stop acting like I'm a day one superfan. I'm just saying I think it was a dumb business decision.

This my take on Disney's strategy.

Release individual Marvel films on 4k August/September in UK

October Spiderman Far From Home 4k

December same week as Star Wars, release first ten years Marvel box.

May 4th 2020 complete Star Wars saga with Lucas versions and original and SE editions of the original trilogy.

And if the rumors are true on sept 10 there will be 8 Pixar releases.

This is a depiction of those who were lost on one side of the steelbook and those who remained on the other side. Vision was considered lost but we know he and Scarlet Witch will be on the Marvel Streaming Service. Perhaps he did return in one form or another...

I think the simpler answer is just lazy design. Some of the characters don't even have the same outfits they had in the movie, like Spider-Man or Iron Man(on the front); Wanda is completely grey for whatever reason and the poses seem to lifted straight off of google image search.

Is there a reason why Endgame isn't available on amazon yet for pre-order yet the 3 Iron Man 4K reissues and the 2 Thor 4K reissues are? I was hoping to pre-order all 6 films in one order.

Vision is dead center because he is dead lol. Please don't tell me that's the final artwork as this defines laziness.

This is now in my top 5 favourite movies of all time. It has less action than IW but more emotional connection with MCU fans. The Russo brothers and writers did an awesome job.

Only negative for me was the sound mix which sucked big time even in Dolby Cinema.

Everyone: We love Endgame because it's the culmination of a 22-movie arc.

Also everyone: Vision shouldn't be on the Steelbook, he's dead and now we don't care that he was ever a major part of this whole franchise.

Always seems to be an ongoing issue. If you want to pre-order you have to go with DMC, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, or Target.

Wish it was that easy, but I live in Canada so DMC (which I used to be a member of) will give me the crap bilingual disaster covers that Canada gets, Best Buy US doesn't ship to Canada, Target won't ship movies to Canada, no idea what Wal-Marts deal is though... but I liked that Amazon would charge you for duty fees when you placed your order so that when it eventually arrives you don't have the postal person asking for an extra 20-30 bucks. Oh well, guess I'll just wait. I just find it weird that the Iron Man 4K and the 2 Thor 4K rereleases are up for pre-order on Amazon, but not Endgame. I guess patients is a virtue or something like that.

I have used them for many orders, can surely recommend them. Delivery speed is a bit slow, but always undamaged and great customer support.
