How is this available for pre-order when the movie doesn’t even come out for another 2 1/2 months?

Same here.

I think the first one is one of the better horror movies of late, along with the The Conjuring and the Evil Dead remake.

Anyway this will be an easy blind buy, no doubt about it.

There's been very few movies that have enticed me to go to the theater this year. This is one of them. The trailer is excellent!

I would hate for this to be ruined by people talking loud or some obnoxious teenagers though. As much as I would like to be able to see this asap, I'll wait for it when I can watch it at home.

I haven't been going to the theater as much as I used to. Matter of fact, the last movie I saw theatrically was The Meg. It's just too damn comfortable watching movies at home.

Right now, the only movies that would make me go to the theater would be a new Underworld (starring Beckinsale) and Resident Evil (starring Jovovich) movie and a sequel to the Evil Dead remake.

I'm perfectly fine waiting for the uhd release. Until at the very least, my local theaters start implementing hdr. Otherwise, I have no incentive to go to the theater really, not when it looks so much better on my ht. And part 1 looks incredible, so I'll just be patient until release. I sure can't wait to watch both back to back though.

Well, first of all, there WILL be an extended cut for Chapter One. Andy Muschietti originally said it was coming last year, didn't, but when asked about it on IG, Barbara Muschietti said it was still happening.

I guess they're holding back on it for now and waiting maybe for the release of Chapter 2 on home video? And yeah, extended cut for Chapter Two.

Andy Muschietti said a while back he wanted to make a single cut version.

That’s what I’m holding out for, or at least a release that contains both chapters, with extended cuts,

I remember some speculations that some cut scenes that would've ended up on a Director's Cut of Part 1 instead got put into Chapter 2 as flashback scenes, making a Director's Cut of Part 1 unnecessary. So, I don't know if we'll get a director's cut of part 1. Maybe we still will eventually, maybe we wont.

However, for Chapter 2:

https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/...-not-theaters/

this week, producer Barbara Muschietti does promise that a Director’s Cut of IT: Chapter Two is definitely happening.

“We will put out a director’s cut because this time it definitely merits it,” Muschietti told the site, suggesting that a Director’s Cut of IT ended up being unnecessary.

She continued, “We have some amazing scenes that didn’t make it into the movie. You have to make choices sometimes and some things cannot be in this theatrical release but are definitely worthy of people seeing them at a later date.

Director Andy Muschietti, meanwhile, assured the site that none of the scary bits were cut from Chapter Two. He promised, “Everything that is too scary is in the movie.”
