It’s been forever since I’ve watched it. Which cut has their score?

Assassins Creed isn’t as bad as it’s painted. I enjoyed it and a little disappointed we won’t see a sequel.

I've never had any problems with the ending. I even think the way it ends, with that intro to Simon Says by Pharoahe Monch kicking in when the credits roll, support the theme of the film and give the effect that I just watched a classic gangster movie.

The U.S. Theatrical Cut of Legend has the score by Tangerine Dream. It isn't a great movie (it's not bad, either), but their score is more suitable than Jerry Goldsmith's. And I normally LOVE Goldsmith's music scores.

Silent Hill from 2006 is a wonderful, surrealistic nightmare. Dismissed by most people.

I agree with this!

The thing about the movie is that it was a number of things when the film was made. An "Event Film" (VEGER), a space odyssey and of course everything that the original series was led up to this as the movie stayed true to form as a finale. Wrath of Kahn was a major change of pace that took us away from that, so the first film will always bring something very special with it. It's screenplay, the tour of the new Enterprise and of course the exploration of the unknown was never shown like this in any movie beyond it.

Where's that Director's Edition dammit!?? * Pounds fist on table

Michael Crichton's Westworld is the 4th most important science fiction film of all time (2001, Star Wars, & Blade Runner for the first 3) and deserves more credit.

Westworld was directly responsible for 3 major films: The Terminator, Halloween (1978), and Jurassic Park. Without Westworld, the sci-fi and slasher genres would not be what they are today.

Westworld was the first science fiction film to feature a robot killer designed as a human, and alongside Soylent Green, both came out in the same year of 73'. Both films feature the concept of dangerous corporation gone bad common in sci-fi today, though I'd argue Westworld had the largest impact on the genre, as it's creation was crucial to Jurassic Park (Crichton himself has said Westworld is what directly gave him the idea to re-do theme park gone wrong concept in Jurassic Park).

The introduction of a killer robot that looked human in film first debuted in Westworld as well (to my knowledge, I have never been able to find another example disproving this), years before Cameron's Terminator or even Verhoeven's Robocop (though admittingly that was due to Blade Runner).

John Carpenter has said in the dvd commentary for Halloween that Westworld's main antagonist, The Gunslinger, was the primary inspiration for Michael Myers. Likewise, James Cameron has said Michael Myers was the main inspiration for The Terminator. Both Halloween & The Terminator have had major roles in influencing the slasher and sci-fi genres, and both of them owe it to Crichton's Westworld. Now consider how many films that Terminator and Halloween have influenced themselves. Just Halloween alone has been credited as responsible for the creation of Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and Scream. And while some slasher films, like Texas Chainsaw Massacre pre-dated Halloween, film historian Adam Rockoff argues it's really Carpenter who is responsible for the direction Slasher films took (who owes it himself to Crichton's creation, The Gunslinger).

Westworld was also the very first film to ever utilize digital image processing, with it being used to pixelate the Gunslinger's first-person view during the chase sequence. This film pioneered modern special effects

https://www.newyorker.com/tech/annal...pecial-effects

And of course Jurassic Park, Crichton's later novel, which Crichton wrote because of Westworld. Spielberg's adaptation of Jurassic Park have been directly credited by their creators as responsible for the creation of A.I., the Star Wars prequels, The Lord of the Rings, and Peter Jackson's King Kong.

So to summarize, none of the following films would have ever been made without Westworld

* The Terminator
* Halloween (1978)
* Nightmare on Elm Street
* Friday the 13th
* Scream
* Jurassic Park
* A.I.
* Star Wars Episode 1-3
* The Lord of the Rings trilogy
* Peter Jackson's King Kong

Now consider those film's impacts on their respective genres.

I find it unfortunate to this day the AFI chose not to select Westworld for it's "Top 10 Top 10" Sci-fi section, only leaving it with a nomination. Admittingly, it's not the greatest film itself. It has some plot holes, is poorly paced at times, and didn't take full advantage of it themes like Jurassic Park later would. But, it's place in sci-fi/slasher/fantasy film history is massively overlooked imo and deserves greater recognition.

And, it's far more entertaining than the HBO series of the same name.

I agree and I will go one farther and say Star Trek V The Final Frontier is also amazing. It has the best character moments in any of the series and films as far as the original cast goes.
