Justin Sevakis did a wonderful job on Anime News Network's theatrical review.

If you're not familiar with Mamoru Oshii's previous work, then I'd suggest watching the first, then second Ghost in the Shell films (only the 2nd one is currently available on blu-ray in NA) before tackling this one. Though they have some action, for the most part they are dialogue-heavy and peppered with philosophical musings. As such, they are definitely not designed for mass consumption.

As for me, I pre-ordered on the day it was available.

To bad the US version lacks the 6.1 Audio tracks from the Japanese version, but on the plus side, at lease we don't have to pay roughly 400$ to get any extras.
