The box, flat out, will not fit. The boxes tend to be about two to three feet in depth, two feet taller than the tv, and at least a foot wider.

You can fit it out of the box, but it will have to lay on it's back with the panel up. I would suggest some kind of plastic packing sheet, usually like 1/4 inch thick, to go on top of the screen to prevent it from being scratched by whatever padding you use.

As for after you've transported the item, you should let it sit for a little while, at least an hour if not two, in it's upright position so that the phosphors have a chance to resettle. I know some people don't believe this, but better safe than sorry.
