As these Dollar Tree sales are now coming with more regularity, I've been forced to be a bit more discerning. Between these sales and the Dollar General glitch sales my pile of unwatched is a very large one indeed.

My new rule is under 6 on IMDB user rating it's a no, unless it looks like a "good" bad movie (for example, most Nic Cage movie from the last ten years).

These ended up being the only 3 blu-ray I picked up this round.

Holiday Inn
99 Homes
Revenge of the Nerds

I also picked up Judy Moody for the 3 disc case.

I'm hoping the Nazi blu makes its way out here within the next year. The trailer made it look fun.

Stopped by a couple of stores today. Below is a partial list of what I got. A few of the DVDs aren't on the tracking list so it's possible they are from a previous wave.

I hit up 4 locations today that had put their stuff out. One of which must have put them out last week as they were severely picked over.

I found these blurays:
  • Atlas Shrugged Part 2
  • A Late Quartet
  • Glacier National Park

And these DVDs:
  • Porky's
  • Mastermind
  • Bullworth

Also, I'll just mention I have lots of stuff to trade if anyone has or can find extras of:

Raccoon Nation
Nazis at the Center of the World
The Dead Lands (DVD w/ slipcover)
Sci-Fi Collection (DVD)
Building Star Trek (DVD)
Hitchcock Collection (DVD)
Back to the Future the Animated Series: Season 2

Reading this thread is a pleasure to see the hauls but then again it's frustrating because I see so many movies I'd like to watch that are definitely not in my region (I went to 15 stores total and 12 restocked by Friday this time).

I tried something new and actually watched a DT DVD for a change I don't think anyone has talked about this one much in their hauls except me. I watched The Puffy Chair. I got way more than a dollar's worth of enjoyment out of it. It's super low budget and shot almost like a documentary, but the writing and acting were excellent. It reminded me a little bit of Clerks, but more drama and romance and less movie references (although there was a good "Say Anything" homage).

There are 3 short films in the special features that I enjoyed very much as well. After checking their imdb I realized I've seen just about everything else these writers/directors (The Duplass Brothers) have done so far except their most recent HBO show, so it was interesting to watch their first feature film and the shorts and see where they started out.

The timing does suck though ..i had two stores here both do it before the friday date..and on varying days..Apparently District managers in the DT company have no power over their stores on when they are supposed to be doing things.

Okay, so people have said, "Weirdsville and The Ten are defective, don't buy" (!!!) but has anybody bought one in this wave and had it play?

I know Dollar Tree doesn't refund but they do give credit for something else; anybody get credit for an opened, defective Blu/DVD? Or do they just count on the customer saying "Oh well, it was only a buck"?

just finished Tekken 2 3/10 -- might barely be worth a $1, which is just about the budget for this flick.

There are some GEMS in this round.

HIGHLY recommend:
Short Term 12(Brie Larson, Rami Malek, + director is doing an MCU movie)

Queen of Versailles (Documentary about building the more expensive house in America that becomes something VERY different)

Monsters (Semi-low budget sci-fi with some amazing special effects shots, Director Gareth Edwards went on to do Rogue One)

The Puffy Chair (low budget first film from the Duplass brothers)

Conan O'Brien Cant Stop (Documentary following Conan O'Brien after Jay Leno steals the Tonight Show back from him)

I picked up today:
Mistress America (Blu)
Knight of Cups (Blu)
Bad Words (Blu)
Popstar (Blu)
Jack and Diane (DVD)
Middle of Nowhere (DVD, I saw Anton Yelchin, I bought)
Josie (DVD)
Black Butterflies (DVD)
Beneath the Harvest Sky (DVD)
Building Star Trek (DVD)

Store #2: (Thursday)
*Nothing*

This store hardly ever changes their item of the week, so they're never matched up with the other stores. They'll likely put them out some time I'm not watching.

Electronics isle:

Talking with the person checking me out, she was saying that there is a guy who always comes in and buys all of the blus. My experience with this store matches up with what she was saying.

Blus:
- Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story (2013)

DVDs:
- Wild Kratts: Bugging Out

--- --- ---
Store #4: (Friday)

Basically the same selection as store #1, but picked over.

I just wanted to publicly thank MachoKing for a PM he sent me in regards to redeeming Bad Words via iTunes. It worked perfectly! I was also able to redeem a few other movies through iTunes that I had otherwise given up on. Thanks again!!!

I would've gotten A Very Sordid Wedding too, as I don't remember it being mentioned anywhere in this thread. (If it was, please don't link me to the post - I don't care that much.)
I grabbed A Very Sordid Wedding the other day and just finished watching it. Apparently it's a sequel to a movie from quite a few years back. I wasn't watching overly closely, so it was a bit hard for me to follow how all the characters were connected; but there were a few scenes that actually had me laughing out loud. My wife watched it more closely and liked it a lot, so it's one we'll end up keeping.

Went to another store later. Got American Dad Volume 7. They had all DVD's and a singe No Good Deed Blu-ray. Plus left over books from last week. I did notice many more boxes underneath. I wish they had the boxes out like other stores. Just a poor selection.

After lurking for several waves, using the info from this thread to help me score at my DTs, I signed up so I could share what I know. This is my first post!

The big news for me is Judy Moody. When it first turned up on Friday, I assumed it must be a lonely remnant from a previous wave, because no one had reported it from the early-bird DTs. But it showed up at multiple locations, sometimes with multiple copies. After I got home, I found that someone else reported it, with a photo. But no one else has, which might make it seem rare. In this area/region, however, it's apparently common.

(Also, the Glacier National Park Blu is from Wilderness Video.)

DVDs I saw that weren't on Spootnek's master list before Friday: The Backup Dancer (since posted), Sasq-Watch (two locations), and A Family Man.
