Onkyo 706 video blue thingy issues

Before if left the factory. Depends on what you're running in terms of gear. Maybe you do have one fixed, they just didn't show an external change like a sticker on the 806. You have to understand that the last batches coming from the Onkyo factory are fixed. New models are rolling out soon.

No. And at that point the prices will be cheaper too. Youll also be able to catch a glimps of the future offerings.

I bought the 706 from CC for cheap. Who knows how long they sat there??? I guess I'd have to contact Onkyo to find out if its "fixed"? Thats just to much damn trouble!

Plus you'd be put on hold for a long time or so I hear story's of. If you have no issues, I wouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy a nice AVR for the price.

I have 2/905 Onkyos & a Pioneer VSX-1018 (I want the 1019, April) & when I saw the 706 I figured I'd give it a whirl !!! Its a good A/V for well under $500. Thanks for the input

Got mine at CC for $600 two weeks ago, I was on hold with Onkyo for about 15 minutes, and they told me my issue was covered under warranty. So the only real wait is if you have to take it or ship it to a service center like i did today. they said that they would call me soon...(3-5 days)

who knows how long they have been sitting at CC and how many times they got thrown around. you should have seen how they treated the tvs, let alone the audio stuff, how many times they changed where they put everything

Do you use the Component inputs(the prob was Comp to HDMI) on your 706? I'm all HDMI. No "Blu" signal crap for me... What was your doing again?

Haven't bought yet. Was just researching and noticing that people were complaining of blue dots in the black parts of the image. When I do get I will probably be only using the HDMI inputs.

HDMI for everything with me too, I have been getting choppy/audio drops with anything the receiver has to decode

I just got my 706 nearly a month ago, but have yet to be able to hook everything up (got a Mitsi 52" as well). I was wondering if the 706 was able to matrix a 5.1 soundtrack to a 7.1. Anyone know about that one?

I'm sorry to hear that , let me know what Onkyo does about fixing it & if there is a way to tell if mine is gunna blow or not? Serial # or whatever?? Thank you.
