Eer since we went from VHS (or Beta, or one of those to Laser Disc, then) to DVD, we've to;ld we have clearer resolution and thougt that was enough. Blu Ray was sold as High DefinitioN DVD, as if DVD wasn't enough. Then (skipping 3D for a minute) we got to 4k resolution and 30 bit color, as if B;lu ray was trash. now we hear news of 8K? And we'll jeep adding K until we're satisfied. I got a question...

How many K do we need until we're satisified? 8k? 16k? 32K? 64k?

(The beauty of the Arabic numbering system compared to the Roman is any number you can think of I can double. compared to anything beyond 3,888 to be called Legion, so how would 12 thousand on the All-Saints Day gospel be written in Latin using only Roman Numerals?)

In terms of sound you went from Mono to Stereo, whihc was a one-dimensional sound to Pro Logic, a 2-dimensoinal sound, to AC3 aka Dolby 5.1 when, if you listen in a headphone envronemtn replicates 3D sound) After 3D sound where do you sgo/ nmore accurate versions of 3D sound?

At least when we get to 3 dimensions, where do you go from there? (I guess there's "motion movies" like at Universal Studios.) But in terms of depth perception, there s no such thing as 4D if you're talking about the visible universe, (in the most traditional sense. You could add time, but that's accommodated by pressing the fast forward and rewind buttons. And theoretical physicists add other dimensions, but how does one convey that on video media?) The only thing you can really add is a non-fixed perspective. In vdeo games that;s good, but linear media? That seems to be giving viewers too much freedom and not enough focus. if you want to tell a story and not challenge someone to be the protagonis, VR is not a good linear format. A good game format, yes, but for linear storytelling?
