It's even worse than that - the BBC can't even show much of its content in 1080i 2K - instead this plays out in SD with the HD channel showing a shameful red screen pretending that this situation is temporary ("...cannot yet show...")



We've had this red screen since the analogue signal was switched off a decade ago and there is no indication anything is ever going to be done about it. In that context, talk of 4K or 8K programming in the UK is an absolute joke.
