I really have no room for the turntable or the vinyls, but have 5 on the way. Most are coming today, but I ordered a soundtrack from my local shop that comes next week. I want to start collecting movie scores. These first few are all new. The shops didnt have used copies and wanted too much new so i found them cheaper on ebay and Amazon. I wanted these ones to be new, but I'll be fine getting used ones as i start going to record shops more. |

2) You also don't explain what "good set-up" means which makes any discussion a bit ridiculous. But I will still give it a try 3) Normaly, if someone asks advice on set-up, I would always tell them to prioritize speakers because as investment goes that makes most sense. (to explain myself, let's say 30 years ago someone integrated a 2.0 system in their room, then 20 years ago they upgraded to a 5.1 system, he can easily leave the 2.0 as is and just add the 3.1 speakers that are missing, the 2 in 2.0 and 2 of the 5.1 are Left and right. If the guy upgraded in 10 years ago to 7.1 it just means adding 2 speakers (none of the others need to be changed if the system is balanced and they still work, now if he moves to 7.1.4 again thje 7.1 does not change so the speakers don't need to be changed if everything plays well together) But the question is can there be a good HT for under 10k of equipment, and I will interpret it being able to use UHD BDs to their fullest, so you can buy a true 4k projector for under 5k$ you can get a 7.1.4 audio set-up for under 4k$ and with remaining 1K$ get a cheap screen and the |

When I ordered my Palliser recliners there was an option for a tactile transducer (bass shaker) to be mounted and included but I passed. I have been asked if I had bass shakers because the two (2) HSU VTF-15H MK2 will give you and the house a good shake when called for. ![]() |

Stale bass is annoying to listen to, but it is also annoying to want to watch something and need to turn it down. |

I do feel that for a decent 4K BD HT it's going to cost more than a 4K Digital. For 5K you can get a real good 4K UHD Display and Sound System. Let alone the cost of the 4K Discs that will keep going up. |

As for prices going up, that will happen to both streaming services and the internet service necessary to access them. My ISP only knows how to raise its prices. Netflix and Amazon Prime do the same. Your viewing preference, streaming, and internet service itself, have seen more price increases over the past few years than have discs. I am paying pretty much the same this year for discs as I have over the past few years, but Netflix, Amazon Prime, and my ISP have all raised their prices multiple times over the same period. Netflix used to cost me $11.99 per month two to three years ago; now its $15.99- a 33% increase. A year of Amazon Prime was $99, and now it is $119- a 20% increase. My ISP was $49.99 per month; now it is $69.99 per month- a 40% increase. Streaming and internet costs have risen sharply while I am paying essentially the same prices for my discs as I was three years ago. Last edited by Vilya; 08-17-2019 at 11:58 PM. |

1) if we use my example a 10k$ projector system or your 5k$ TV system they will cost less igf used with digital instead of UHD BD? 2) That UHD BD will only work with a 10k$ projector based system and digital a 5k$ TV system 3) digital 4k looks and sounds so bad that you would only want to watch it on cheap 5k$ system built around a small TV so that it mitigates the quality issues while while that is too small and UHD BD looks and sounds so good that you would feel it requires a large projector and fancy audio system to take full advantage of it? Well, according to the person who never buys 4K discs, or any discs at all, they are going up steadily.
![]() ![]() Thankfully, streaming services and internet service providers NEVER raise their prices. ![]() |

LOL! My Netflix in Canada is now $17 from the original $12, internet from $80 to $120. Prime went up by a lot too. All the while the movie selections of Netflix and Prime in Canada gets suckier.
