They lost me at two episodes on 4K....

I'll stick with my two box sets for now I guess.

They will release a new box set every holiday season with two more episodes in 4K.

I have already come down from the high from the announcement and unless the new 6 hours of extras are life changing I will have to pass on this too. There comes a point where you have to say "enough is enough", even with Twin Peaks.

LOL you're probably not wrong.

Between the "Entire Mystery", then the Criterion FWWM, to the OG series re-releases, to the "Entire Television Collection" to now this...

They're milking the hell out of this series.

That would be "rightest."

But really, everyone thought this box would be a cashgrab that didn't even include Fire Walk With Me, and this Limited Edition seems to be far from that, and includes Fire Walk With Me! An actual complete set, and with six additional hours of bonus features is crazy, especially when it's even more glorious behind the scenes footage. People don't like difficult or oversized packaging, but it's still beautiful, unique packaging, and I love it. You can tell a lot of work went into making this a definitive collection.

As for the people really complaining about lack of 4K, who really expected any 4K to be on this set? So to me, it feels like an exciting and enticing gift of two episodes that are close to Lynch's heart, and also means that Lynch is at least thinking about 4K, so we could be getting at least The Return in its entirety in 4K at some point.

LOL never had any scratches on discs in sleeves, so that isn't an issue. And even if there ARE a few surface scratches, it doesn't affect playback, so it's a non-issue unless you are so OCD you can't handle it.

On to the next worthless Internet complaint.

The other already-announced set doesn't include FWWM. This is a new set.

And I expect 4K, since all the episodes have had 4K scans for a while. No reason not to release them. And The Return would partially be an upscale, since it was mostly shot 3.4K. Not much, but still.

Almost definitive. As you would say.

Definitive would be a whole 4K box with UHD discs for all the episodes and the movies (FWWM and Pilots).

I'm up to date on all of that. I know that this isn't the same set as the one that doesn't include FWWM, but I consider this set the Limited Edition version of that Complete Television Series set that was previously announced and is being near-simultaneously released. That box seemed unfortunately incomplete and I had thought Lynch might take issue with that. But all along - and the whole reason information on it got pulled so fast - Lynch et. al had this actually complete set in the works, which makes me incredibly happy to see the series get the elaborate treatment it deserves, with all the pieces and more in tact for newcomers and fans alike, especially considering they could have just repackaged all the existing material with no new features. When the Complete Television Series was first announced, this is the box I had expected years down the road when Criterion lost the rights to Fire Walk With Me. Overall, this is a great and unexpected gift.

And @slask, yes, almost definitive, I suppose. The picture quality is so good on the Blu-rays that I'm not complaining about not having 4K, if only because I never thought we'd get Twin Peaks on 4K in the first place.

I pre-ordered, but won't be shocked if I cancel it. However, this is the first Lynch directed material to be hitting the UHD format. That is worth a celebration in my eyes. Just, of course, it's only 2 episodes and the international pilot, not the whole dang series.

I would pay another $300 for this if Michael Cera, Harry Goez and Kimmy Robertson did commentary tracks on each episode in character as Wally, Andy and Lucy.

This entire series is my favorite thing ever, but I’d only double dip if it was something substantial, like the entire series and FWWM in 4K.

Pre-ordered! I have my reservations, especiialy since I own all the current sets, but $140 is significantlly less than I thought this would be.

Tell that to the numerous people that bought the Friday The 13th Blu collection (the tin set) with scratched blus. That set was nothing but sleeves.

"A compilation of full-length, unedited versions of many of the Roadhouse performances as first seen in Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series."

I was hoping this would be on the initial release of the series, specially didnt like how they cut short Julee's Cruise's The World Spins.

Despite not liking the giant box it comes in, I'll probably buy it just for the bonus features.
