No and there was no sync issue.

We confirmed the title on the day of his death, people were asking, so we confirmed.

What do you mean by marketing opportunity? He's been dead for a long time now, so if we were trying to market our release around his passing, it would've been released around the time he died.

We tried to get the additional scenes and rumored cut, but none of them could be found. hence, the delay.

The release will be the theatrical cut with a historian commentary and trailers.

Not trying to start an argument, but gotta ask: the delay in getting this out had to do with Kino's attempts at finding supplemental material? If yes, that's commendable and much appreciated. It's unfortunate that nothing was found but it is what it is. Thanks

Yes, that's why we delayed the release. In hindsight, we would've released it months ago.

Yeah, has there been any more news about Iceman? If it's not my most anticipated Kino release, it's up there.

Kino Insider - I know you said you were announcing the last 80s MGM title this weekend, but will the other announcement be a brand new one also? And can you say what deal it will be from?

The most important thing is to release the movie with a good master.

Yeah, the opening with the car driving in the rain made an impression on me the first time that I saw it.

Me too! Since TT never got around to releasing "The Long Ships" on Blu-ray, I would think KL would be all over it!

I never want to bag on someone's favorite, but this is a forgotten sequel with an unfinished script (according to the Robert Evans book The Kid Stays in the Picture) that somehow got filmed anyway. To me, there are so many more essential Paramount movies that have never seen the light of day on Blu. While I'd certainly still be happy for you, I would personally be disappointed if The Two Jakes somehow makes the cut over the many other unreleased Paramount classics - assuming Kino is limited in what they can put out.

I actually thought the Two Jakes was really good. Loved Keitel in this. However I'd rather have another looked down upon sequel first, which is Another 48 Hours. Love that one.

Who says it'd be picked over something else if everything they're going to release is in the bag anyway?

I adore 48 Hrs. but found myself severely disappointed by Another 48 Hrs. at the time. However, I would love to hear your defense of it. I recently added Another 48 Hrs. to my VUDU account (via the Walmart Paramount DVD + 3 VUDU movies promotion) and will eventually revisit it. It has been years since I've seen it.

I'm speculating. I'd love if Paramount told Kino "here, have it all!" but I somehow doubt that is the case. Also, Kino and any other label probably isn't in a position to release every single thing even if they can. At least that's the impression I've gotten from past posts, either by KL Insider or another insider from another label (I can't remember specifics now).

Terrific original poster art for Winter Kills and a great set of extras. The DVD I own only has the 2003 commentary by Richert. Thanks again Kino Lorber. Really looking forward to getting KL's blu ray.
