I haven't said it isn't distasteful. Then, most of the people here are not saying it's distasteful. You all are saying it's terrible and horrible and acting outraged, disgusted and furious.

To use your example, a baby got shot in the face, somebody said something about it. Well, while you're losing your mind in outrage, screaming in the streets, the genius will be saying that whoever wants to say whatever they want to say about it can say whatever the H$!! they want to say. Freedom of speech wasn't guaranteed for the speech we want to hear. It was guaranteed so that no one can ever silence anyone in this country.

Tom posted it thinking it was a very unusual coincidence with the name ATOR. Nothing to do with using that tragic event to promote the release of the movie. We since deleted the post. It's not the first time we have had dark coincidences occur around these movies which we have pointed out with Chaos.

I'm not outraged nor am I saying I'm outraged. I'm full on shocked and disgusted at a bunch of people I respect for being unbending, unwilling to break, saying whatever the heck they want to say whenever they want to say it, watching whatever the H$!! they want to watch, who cares how gross it is, suddenly freaking out because someone made an off colour joke that was immoral and improper and insensitive and in poor taste and so very very offensive. You guys are b@!! busters acting like my old book club. Those women acting like this is why I left my old book club. When someone makes a joke, I don't care if it's funny or despicable. It's their joke and they can have it. I'm not taking it away.

As to David, he caved. What more does anyone want here? Should he cry an apology?

In passing, over the years, and he's the one that's cool. He doesn't fear anyone. I fear Schwarzenegger. I wear make-up every time I see him. I don't want to look dowdy when he's in the room. Still, if I had a tasteless dead-people joke just busting out of me, I'd make it, even if he were there. I'd own it. He'd think less of me.

The people I've come to appreciate in these forums would never be shocked or disgusted by a comment like that, had it not been made, first, by Dark Force and, second, at a time when endlessly whining about feelings of outrage is so popular that it is practically an expected behaviour. These guys are usually fiercely individual and not easily offended or knocked down by emotion. I like that about them. If that is banal, so be it.

I'd still rather have us all talking about Mirror Mirror and such, if that counts for anything.

I've always enjoyed the social media antics, I found them harmless and entertaining. I have a good sense of humor. But the post that was deleted tonight crossed a line in human decency and displayed a total lack of empathy.
