The packaging really is a joke. It's ridiculous that they couldn't put a blu-ray case or a g2 sized digipak in there.

My copy just got here. Amazon packaged it along with a Steelbook inside of an oversized bubble mailer. Somehow neither of them have any apparent damage, I have no idea how the heck this is possible.
The packaging is interesting too, I don't mind it as much in person. I'm happy that the discs don't have to be slid in and out of any booklet like with BTAS last year. Overall pretty happy with this release. |

I don't understand your question? I didn't say it looked worse than Sword in The Stone. It almost looks just as bad, that's what I said. Every screencap looks processed and the compression is pretty anemic too. The backgrounds haven't been completely nuked which is probably its only saving grace.

We watched these with rabbit ears, a snowy picture, and terrible sound back in the day. In color, if we were lucky. And our generation loved it and made it a classic. Just get it and enjoy. We would have given our eye teeth just to be able to own it.

If you had any hopes of keeping the clear outer box, don’t order from Amazon (unless you pay extra for gift packaging).
Mine arrived via UPS in a bubble mailer and it’s mangled to heck on one corner. I should have known better. It’s disappointing to say the least. |

After redeeming the digital code, the versions on VUDU are pre-DNR versions of the episodes

I get mine today, will probably send it back. I had no idea of crap bit rate, and no HD audio! I just assumed WB would have treated this so much better.

WB released Scooby Doo on Amazon or either iTunes a few years back, I don't remember if it was the entire series or not. It looks gorgeous and appears to be entirely unfiltered. That's what I was referring to. I mean that's fair on you and all, but there's nothing wrong with bringing-up a release being disappointing. They should treat their stuff better. The Jetsons and Johnny Quest were done right and I don't see why Scooby Doo shouldn't have been done better either. If that doesn't bother you, good on you! |

Wow. I wonder if they are overall better or worse (which of course includes VUDU processing/ compression). Can you also check the audio track specs you are receiving?

Jonny Quest and The Jetsons were both handled by Warner Archive Collection, and Scooby was a product of Warner Home Video -- two very different divisions of the same parent company.

Here's a quick comparison. Not the same frame but you get the gist. Top is digital from Amazon and bottom Warner's set.
