Look at Johnny Quest and The Jetsons, you'll see how colors pop on those and they're nicely encoded and also not filtered to the same degree. |

I just want a standard packaging of this set.
What are all the complaints people are having for this set? |

A small amount of contrast boosting might explain the more saturated colors. But yes, DNR on a cartoon is definitely a thing -- many 'toons from this era and long before were shot on film (in this case, 35mm) and often display a natural amount of film grain visible in screenshots and in-motion. DNR takes away that texture to a certain degree, whether the subject is a live-action man or a talking Great Dane.

Someone a few pages back I think mentioned seeing it at Walmart over the weekend. My Walmart can barely get releases out a week within the release date for a given title. Not going to ever bother checking the locations near me until the end of the week.

Cool. Thanks. I have a super Wal-mart 5 min from my house where I buy majority of my groceries anyways so I’ll keep my eyes open later this week when I stock up on food.

I plan on buying the BLu-ray set but I'm going to wait for the standard mass market release. I was worried that the permanent price for this release would be $80-90 but realized that we'll probably get a wide release with a more affordable price range.
Can't wait to see the general mass release. Hopefully, around $50, which would still be pricey for me but worth the price just to have this collection on Blu-ray. I'm grown up now but I still love the original Scooby-Doo. What I especially love are the chase songs from the back half of the second season. ![]() |

I'd guess Warner has the non HD audio streaming versions available and quite rightly realised they could slap them onto Bluray without really compromising the quality. HD audio is NOT required so why bother? I'm also speculating that the change in policy needs to prove itself so if Warner can get suckers like us to shell out $70 for some tat instead of $30 for a standard release that will go toward showing the suits that the demand really is there. However, the number of bonus features doesn't really indicate they cut as many corners as possible. They didn't really need to add any bonuses at all. |

As the review explains , cheap animation doesn't need high bitrates. This isn't "24" you know. And as pointed out already by more than one person - a very low budget (even in comparison to other Hanna Barbera of the same period) would not require HD audio to give us the average audio quality you have on this late 60's saturday morning kids show done as cheaply as possible |

Just got my copy from BullMoose and the house packaging is very sturdy. My order came in a big box with air pillows and plenty of bubble wrap. Then it the house itself is stored inside a hard plastic casing. One disc slid out but that's most likely on me or the post office and there is no damage whatsoever to the disc. The packaging really isn't that big and I already found a spot for it on my shelf. Plan on watching some of these episodes later after the Orioles doubleheader this afternoon.

It was always going to be disappointing to a certain extent because we knew it was overpriced for what we were getting and so much of the retail price was paying for the packaging that most people couldn't care less about

the only good news of an unexpected bill, is that I canceled my pre order before 'cutoff' - i'm still interested and would go with a compact/space saving case over this, but I'm a bit cautious about Warner Home cartoon releases; getting more so with every misstep too
(how's that for a run on sentence? lol) |

Amazon of course shipped it in an oversized loose bubble mailer, and it arrived with the outer plastic case split open on both sides and creased on the back cover BADLY. I mean would it hurt them to pack a rather pricey set like this in an actual box for protection? I contacted CS to complain and was given a full refund and they didn't say anything about having to send it back nor does it show any return process on the order...so I guess I can live with the cosmetic damage. ![]() |

TT have difficulty shifting 3000 copies of some really great classic Hollywood movies so how long it will take to sell 50000 copies of this remains a mystery. I'm sure it would take a while even in normal packaging but at $70 ![]() I'm guessing it might be like The Monkees at $200. And that was only 10000 copies |

I paid $79.97 from BullMoose and was happy to pay a few extra dollars for peace of mind packaging wise. Amazon had this around $73-74 or something I believe? |

The email from CS (after the chat) said this: "On this occasion, we don't require you to return the original. You're welcome to keep, donate or dispose of it - whichever option is most appropriate and convenient for you." But yeah, Amazon's packaging with movies/music products has become poor. Bubble mailers for some products can be fine, but for fragile items that are shipped "loose" in large bubble mailers it often spells disaster. With other products it's often still fine through Amazon...but with movies/music they have literally gone down the cheap route. At least their customer service is still good, I will say that.
