I agree. Two types of people bought the Wii, hardcore Nintendo fanboys and casual gamers. While the fanboys will be spending a lot of money on software they're a very small fringe group, the casual gamers on the other hand, people who only bought a PS2 until the end of its lifecycle, will not spend that much on software. They're called "casual" for a reason.
I have 3 relatives in the 40 to 55 age range who bought a Wii. They only have Wii sports, an extra nunchuck and remote and thats it! They all don't have it connected to the internet because 2 out of three of them don't have Wifi. I also have a Wii and am very excited about Metroid, problem of course is again scarce resources, there are also a lot PS3 games I want to buy. And for the record I think Wii Fit is ridiculous. If you want to get in shape, go out and actually run at the gym! Stepping on and off a board will barely burn 100 calories in an hour. |
