I called him a silly little man because he's been hostile for pages and it's very frustrating. If he can't be respectful to me or anyone else, you're right, I'm going to pull out some sardonics.

It's probably best to move on as any attempt to change FilmFan's view is futile. Each of us have our own opinion, which is OK, but facts can't be ignored and those who do ignore the facts just look silly. If others want to continue to push an agenda, let them as it'll be seen for what it is.

Sounds logical.
You just described what you've been doing for pages. That's called projecting, honey. Also you're still appealing to authority as if that means anything.
If you don't care what it looks like go have fun.

That's not how this board works. You don't have an ounce of authority over me. If you make the choice to respond to me I am going to respond to you. Didn't you put it best earlier? Don't tell you how to post? Well those words are mutual.

What facts exactly? What are you talking about?
I just wanted an honest conversation about the Blu-Ray set. Without a lot of speculation as to what some think the set looks like without even have seen it. To make a valid opinion on something you know nothing about is maddening. The reviews reflect very well what this set is, and what it looks like. But for page after page it has been "smeared" this or "no grain" that.
I'm sorry but that is in no way factual. There is grain, and there is no "smeared" appearance. I'm not sure why that is so difficult to comprehend.

Do the first few episodes have the instrumental opening/closing or are they all the same, with vocals?

I was hoping it would also include "The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour" cartoons. I basically gave up watching Saturday morning tv by the time it originally aired (1976) but several years ago, I purchased the dvd box-set and from what I recall, some of the episodes were not all that bad.

Anyway, I went ahead and purchased this new set. I did a small but adequate comparison between the two and my conclusion: Much better than the DVDs. The colors are more vibrant, while the swampy various green colors stood out as opposed to the flat look on the dvd. I got all that out of the first few minutes of my favorite episode, "Spooky Space Kook" lol.

Anyone? The first two episodes originally had an instrumental only opening/closing. The third episode used an instrumental only closing.

These use the same original restoration as the DVDs just with more DNR and “clean up”, so these have the same changes. WHV didn’t bother to go back and restore anything to its original state unfortunately.

If you find comedy in facts (there is grain, there is no "smearing"), and not speculation--spreading misinformation ("scrubbed clean with DNR, Smeary) about what the series on BD looks like that is great!

By the way which episode did you view? How did you get your hands on the disc, did you buy the set?

Would you believe I found it at my local tip shop? There were two other copies, apparently everyone is just throwing the sets away! Paid a nice $2 out of curiosity and then trashed the set myself

Couldn’t you just actually view one of the digital copies or even just the comparisons posted in this thread instead of falsely claiming that we’re spreading misinformation? Then again, I guess you’d have to admit to being wrong and you wouldn’t be able to handle that.

*Waits for someone who isn’t currently part of the discussion to get excitedly prepared to chime in about how I refuse to admit I’m wrong, then see this little part here and experience internal anger*

He has lain the goalposts for this discussion which follow:

-Screenshots show nothing, it can only be judged in motion
-Professionally paid reviewers have specifically trained eyes that aren't wrong
-Their word and his is law
-Anything but what he and reviewers say is "speculation" even when viewed in motion

It's a funny look but it is what it is

Eh, I will just include those openings/closings in an HB Extras disc. I can find those clips online.

I just went through most of the first disc, and they all include the vocal version for both the opening and closing.

I do recall (either tv or on one of my dvds) a closing that was all instrumental. Maybe the 2nd or 3rd season (The Scooby-Doo Show), or perhaps the movies. I can check the 2nd season later on if you want.

That is fine. I believe it was just the first three episodes that were different. I really appreciate your help.

I have only ever seen these episodes with vocalized opening/closings, and I’ve been watching since the late 90s.
