I’ve never seen this but just put in a blind preorder based on how often my film friends immolate themselves over this one.

Before y’all scream I don’t particularly enjoy watching horror movies that much, which is the impression that I have if this movie. Alien and the new It are pretty much my horror threshold. Hell, Gravity is a pretty good horror movie tbh.

Per Diabolik, Synapse did a brand new color correction specifically for UHD.

Quote:
A note on the new UHD of SUSPIRIA from Synapse Films ..... Synapse has gone back to the 4K scans that served as the source for their widely acclaimed Blu-ray presentation of the film and started from scratch in order to fully take advantage of the opportunities created by UHD. Synapse President Don May, Jr. says, “We went back to the original 4K files and did a new color correction that took full advantage of the UHD format’s expanded color and high dynamic range capabilities.” You might have seen SUSPIRIA in the past, but now you can experience it in a whole new way!

the 4K theatrical DCP was amazeballs, can't wait to see how this translates to UHD

I know this is preorderable via Diabolik and Synapse, but there will be one from Amazon, right?

Awesome. We know the range is there as per the non-nuked highlights in the TLE restoration.

Check that list price though, $59.99! Synapse won't ship outside North America either, this is going to cost a f*ckton of money to import.

Diabolik ships international and is cheaper. It’s not exclusive to Diabolik and Synapse, though - other retailers will be carrying it as well.

I got so close to picking the blu-ray up over the last year and now I'm so glad I waited! This is so exciting I can't wait to see the new transfer in 4K HDR!

$42 shipped from Diabolik, essentially Warner MSRP. I’ll support them.

Don May Jr. has gone on the record stating he’s not a personal fan of the HDR process. Knowing that he went back to do the color correction for the UHD/HDR is great news.

While a 4K master exists of Phenomena with Arrow, odds are Synapse would not be able to license it from the film’s Italian distributor. While Synapse had access to 35mm materials for both Phenomena and Tenebrae, the Italian distributors wouldn’t allow him to create a new master. For both those films, he had to use the materials that already existed.

As far as I’m aware, a 4K master of Tenebrae doesn’t exist.

I doubt they're customs friendly though, this is going to cost sooo much. But I wants it, my precious!

Very great news around here!
I hope though this will have the original 4.0 track too, don't get me wrong the new Dolby Atmos remix is a nice plus and all but for this type of movie, I don't need immersive height effects this time around.

yeh either way this will be pretty pricey £30-£40 to import

bonus disc is exact same by looks of it too

wonder if they will do separate 4k release without bonus disc
that might cut cost a bit ?

I doubt it, that bonus disc will have cost peanuts.
