She's actually pretty cool with that usually, but some films we've bought too many times (The Thing/Re-Animator), and that Suspiria steelbook was pricey.

I dread her look when The Thing and Re-Animator get a UHD release (It's bound to happen).
Thats what I do. I slip it into the collection and say "Oh you don't remember when we got that?" lol

Synapse, can we also have Demons 1 and 2 on UHD please?

Sincerely, all Bava and Argento fans.

Demons, Phenomena, and Let Sleeping Corpses Lie would be the Synapse titles I’d want most on UHD after this. But I’ll likely buy anything they release on the format.

I know it's not Synapse, but how about Blood And Black Lace on UHD?

Honestly, I don't think there's any excuse anymore now for labels like Arrow and Blue Underground not to enter the UHD market.

My money is waiting...

Even Synapse said no other discs are planned at the moment - this is a litmus test for UHD sales. What if this is not successful? Should other companies follow suit without seeing how well this one does?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Let Sleeping Corpses Lie in 4K UHD two years from now.

What is the deal with Suspiria? This movie seems like it’s always been expensive! Back in 2006 I paid over $30 for the Dario Argento Collection DVD at St. Marks store that has all sorts of foreign and indie movies. This was pre-streaming, pre-iTunes. If you wanted to watch something more obscure you either had to find someone renting it or just pony up for it.

13 years later and the list on the new 4K disc is $60! I would love to have it but only if it drops 60%! I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a revelation for me given the sort of restoration they’ve already done for the Blu.

If you’re in the US, it’s 31.97 at Bullmoose.

The difference is the home media landscape has changed dramatically since 2006 and this release is coming from a tiny boutique label on the UHD format, which is a niche of a niche of a niche.

Also, as some others have said, it’s $31.97 at Bull Moose and $37.99 at Diabolik DVD, which is a nearly 50% discount from the MSRP.

Well it’s been a few days. The shock has worn off.
And I’m still excited as hell to get my hand on this UHD.

This is the stuff dreams are made of.

Ha! That's pretty much my situation with my partner. He warns me not to buy any more media (I'm meant to be saving money for holidays etc) "how many releases of that movie do you need?" "you have more games than you have the time to play them". I can't easily hide the game figurines though!

Much as I'd love that to happen it'd be highly unlikely, there's no original elements and it took Arrow a guid few years to find anything suitable. Synapse managed to slightly better the same elements but I think that's the best we're likely to get...

I LOVE that new cover art. I have the UK limited 4k edition that doesn't have any colour correction added so I plan on upgrading. I am disappointed they don't include the bluray as I would have like to sell my Synapse copy and just have this new set as the ultimate package.

It has long been regarded a top-tier title among Italian genre movies, and therefore the rights-owners most likely also demand a high price for the rights.

Supposedly Synapse had to pay through their nose for it. IIRC Don May Jr. said somewhere that Synapse paid what they normally would have to pay for three (!) separate titles for the rights to Suspiria.
