What the F%$#, damn anyone can be a "reviewer", if you can call them that. It's sad really...

Good lord some of those responses are just classic, do they even read what they are typing or what? I love where they say T2 DVD is as good as the BD

Vinyl is still the truest sound duplication in music. it makes for a softer more delicate sound. please everyone do some research on vinyl its on a comeback

Tell them they just need a BD for the review, no need for the DVD. Make a review of the BD and then make a side note saying the DVD version of this movie is not as excellent as the BD

Lol, that David S. character is worse then the so called "reviewer" who's crying about not getting a free dvd...

Look at at one of his posts:

Quote:
Well, I don't deliberately spell it "wrong". I am used to spelling "Blue" the correct way, which is b-l-u-e. Since spell check is not going to catch this, it is only understandable that there will be times blue ray will get spelled with an "e".

Perhaps Sony was making a nod to the trendy, "hipness" of it being "kewl" to shorten and misspell words when naming their product, but in any case, if people like me and Goliath are guilty of mispelling anything, it is of mispelling someone else's incorect spelling
No one's putting a gun to their head to upgrade their 27" CRT's with the built in dvd players

Just accept the fact the blu-ray is superior to dvd and move on. Times are changing and technology is always improving, what's with all the hate?? Lol...

I thought she at least sort of had a legitimate beef; the people over at High Def Digest get REAMED in the forums when someone wants a review and/or doesn't like that X movie was reviewed before Y movie, but the reason that happens is screeners and usually their hands are tied. Plus she was putting it calmly and not acting like an entitled ass.

But then I got to the part where she complains that the DVD and Blu-ray (which includes the movie on a DVD, mind you!) are the same price. This is not good news, of course, but the latest fiendish plot in the anti-DVD conspiracy. Seriously? God forbid a home video format be supplanted by anything else (you know, the way every single format has sooner or later).

The thing is, some people aren't sensitive to details such as contrast and sharpness if they're only seeing one version.
I like to get my Dad's monitor, plug it into my computer, and do a side-by-side of the DVD and Blu-ray. Everyone who's seen it has appreciated the huge difference.

Not enough stores/sites do an in-your-face SD-HD comparison. I think it was those upscaled Lord of the Rings SD pics that got me excited about going blu for the first time, and I'm really pleased with the (very notable) difference between blu-ray and DVD now.

Seriously. By all means, please continue. I may have to join you soon, although you are doing a wonderful job.

I've had a few minutes to cool off and am now writing from the cardio bike, but some of these -- shall we say -- less than educated people are driving me nuts.

So they are saying there isn't that big of a difference between Blu and DVD?

Look what I found on youtube. It is a clip of The King King that was shown on ABC a while ago. It is a little choppy, probably because of youtube, but damn, it is sharp. I bet the Blu-ray will look amazing compared to this.

Also, if anyone wants to post some decent comparison pics of a Blu-ray against a DVD, feel free to use these from Casino Royale and show them to everyone:

DVD

Blu-Ray

The DVD cap was enlarged to match the resolution of the Blu-ray one.
The Blu-ray is slightly darker because...I don't know, but it plays back light like the DVD.
