Kino's Hannibal is why I'm excited for another indie label release. I never bought their blu ray, luckily, and I still haven't seen it. Heard a lot about it + the release quality though.

I guess I'm lucky that my girlfriend is almost as big of a fan of Suspiria as I am, then.

When I was a kid the modern horror films we loved were: SUSPIRIA, DOTD, ALIEN, HALLOWEEN, and Phantasm. Having four of that era's best on 4K is tremendous.

First, Kino puts out Hannibal
Next, Second Sight announces Dawn of the Dead
Then, Discotek announces Space Adventure Cobra
Now, Synapse does Suspiria

What a time to love Indie labels. If tiny AF companies like Discotek and Synapse can do UHD, then quite frankly, Criterion, Arrow and Shout have no excuses.

Spell check goes out the window when stuff gets bolder! But I’ve spelled things wrong here on numerous occasions!

Now if that one guy can give up the rights to Dawn of the Dead, I'm curious who will fight over the rights to publish it.

IMDB - Hannibal with 239K votes, and Suspiria with 70K.
I'd be with you if you were talking about Silence of the Lambs, but Hannibal was a complete turd of a movie that had absolutely zero staying power because of how disappointing a sequel it was.

That said, I wouldn't doubt Hannibal is the more well-known movie to the public at large, but if you're zooming in on the slice of people who are actually buying physical releases in 2019, Suspiria is hands-down the better bet for "will sell more units."

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking Hannibal was pretty terrible. I tried to watch it either last year or this, after not having seen it for many years and couldn't even finish it. I found it rather slow moving and dull.

Turbine Germany TCM was first UHD in 2016 I think
then
Videa Italy Suspiria 2017
Cult Films UK Suspiria was end 2017 beginning of 2018 (sold out)

Koch Media Germany Dog Soldiers 2019

Le Chat France The Blood Rose 2019 (sold out)
they
also said J.Rollin + Deodato UHD's planned for 2020

and there's other TCM & Suspiria 4k releases in Germany & Italy
plus maybe a few I've forgot
