I really don't like that.

If you are buying the damn trilogy pack, you know what the three movies are.

They just need a pic of the ring on the cover, that's it.

Oh man... I agree with you. That cover is not impressive at all. It reminds me of the DVDs with two different movies on it. Just bad.

That doesn't look official. It has a DVD logo in the bottom right and says "Artwork TBC"(To Be Created?) in the top right.

TBC probably means "To be Confirmed," meaning it's not set yet.

According to 1.5, I wouldn't worry much.
Also:
1.6 How much video can you fit on a Blu-ray disc?
Over 9 hours of high-definition (HD) video on a 50GB disc.

Also, I don't want to extinguish anyone's anticipation for the extended version, but for film-length comparison's sake, I popped my copy of Godfather II into my computer to look at its stats. The film itself is 200 minutes (3hr 20m) long and takes up 44.9 GB of the disc.

If New Line, or WB, or whoever, wants to fit 4 hours and 11 minutes of The Return of the King (EE) onto a single 50GB disc, they're going to have to do a lot of squeezing...
If Godfather 2 took 44.9 GB, then either the special features should be put on their own disc, or split the movie up (didn't bother me on my EE DVDs).

Peter Jacksons extended King Kong of 200 min is on 1 disc and it also have 90 min of PiP track on and that Blu ray is referance quality so there will not be a problem fitting ROTK on 1 disc at all

Having a ring there alone would look pretty awesome. Those also seem to be the theatrical cuts. I hope they release both the extended and theatrical ones at the same time.

And if you notice it states that EIV is releasing the set so most likely region locked unfortunately. Glad I have that LG BH 200.

In my opinion, the cover art shouldn't have any "floating heads", reviews, or actors' names as big as the movie title itself on the cover. But this special treatment is usually only for the EE's.

Y'know, that would look very good, just a ring with the inscription on it. Great idea. (fingers crossed)

If it's getting released in the UK, the US will be getting it too. No way it'll be UK only.

Not always. You would think that USA would get DEAD OR ALIVE since Canada did, but no. The Island was relaesed in other countries but not USA. Tomb Raider 2, you would think would be on HD DVD or Blu-Ray in Ameria since the first was, but it isn't.

I... want... the precious...... Seriously I really want to wait for the extended cuts but if they're really only going to release them before The Hobbit (which is a few years away) I may have to settle for these. Can't wait.

True and a few other instances come to mind as well

I'm aware of instances like that, but there's no way such a prestigious release as LotR would be released in the UK prior to the US release.

It might just come out here first (UK). Whats more important is will it be equal to the eventual USA release?

Whats wrong with you guys, the book was written in England and no doubt funding of the project came from the UK too.
