Amityville 3-D should have been included in your first grouping.

Thanks for the proofreading. I wonder how I missed that.

Bob mentions two 1980's titles and also MGM titles as possible in the future. Any guess what those titles are?

For the MGM titles, I'm thinking Southwest Passage and The Diamond Wizard are likely. Also waiting for Wings of the Hawk to be announced as the last Universal title. That would be sweet.

No idea what the two '80's films are. After the double-whammy shock of Parasite and Revenge of the Shogun Women, anything's possible. Magnificent Bodyguard is one I'm dying to see. Hit the Road Running sounds like it could be fun.

Agree with you about the MGM titles. Also agree about "who knows?" for the '80's titles. Would most love to see "Spacehunter, etc." Disagree about "Wings/Hawk" being the last from Universal. I think something will be eventually worked out for "The Glass Web" and 3dFA will be involved!

Fingers crossed, Warren! The overall momentum is exciting. Bob said the 3DFA already has 3 years' worth of work lined up. And that rights holders are starting to knock on his door rather than the other way around. Who knows - if Warner Bros. was to jump on the bandwagon, we could hit the Golden Age mother lode.

Sounds like nothing is impossible right now.

Spacehunter is very unlikely I believe. Friday 13th is my guess for one of the 80’s titles.

A petition organized by some fellow 3D fans to nudge Warner Bros. to open their vaults to 3DFA:

At this point I don't see Time/Warner doing anything. They won't do it themselves as they know by experience it's a money loosing proposition. And there are probably a lot of financial and political complications on farming it out. Like suppose the highly paid head of the restoration tech division is married to the daughter of the CEO?(LOL) Could be. Even if they do farm out the 11 (forget "The Command") they control to 3dFA, with the backlog that 3dFA already has, how long do you think it will be before we see any of them? And we all know we wouldn't want them to be farmed out to anybody else!

I'll sign the petition anyway, but I truly believe it's an exercise in futility.

I think Bob has made probably made enough approaches to WB over the years and obviously hasn’t got very far. I’d imagine WB prefer to keep their property in-house?

Warner's has been very fortunate that their Warner Archive program has been so successful. But the success of the program has also prevented them from making changes to their internal policies that other studios have already done to accommodate 3rd party sellers. Paramount and MGM have allowed access to their studio elements to outsiders. If Paramount or MGM operated the way WB does, I doubt titles like Gog, Those Redheads From Seattle, Sangaree, Cease Fire, Jivaro, and The Maze would have been restored digitally. Even Paramount still holds on to old outdated policies, preventing Kino and 3DFA from using crowd funding to restore Flight to Tangier, but they're still much further along in the 21st century than WB is.

And Universal. I would really like to hear from George Feltenstein (WB SVP)
and his current thoughts on the matter; he did a reddit about 6 years ago.

I watched The Maze again last night. I never seem to get tired of watching it, even after only a few months go by. The 3-D stereography and cinematography instantly transports me into that world and away from mine. Works every time.

I've said this before and I'll say it again now - it will be interesting to see if WAC provides a 3-D version of Popeye, Ace of Space, on one of its upcoming Popeye collections. If they do not, it will be a gigantic disappointment as far as I'm concerned.

Puts things into perspective since that podcast must have been recorded around 2010. I think we were lucky to get all the discs we’ve acquired in the intervening years.
