What's with all the new POLLS recently? - Blu-ray Forum

Everytime I sign on to the forum lately I notice yet another new poll about a movie, a director, a shoot-out between one or the other, a best this or that and many others. Half of the time the selections are so incomplete I can't even post, so what's the point of providing a poll?

Don't get me wrong...I don't mind polls at all, but it is getting rather boring seeing the same type of thing. I know it's fun and all, but please...lets be more creative!

I agree! Maybe I should create a poll called "Are there to many polls?"

I don't look in a directory and post the same question using a different actor/director/movie, etc . I could...it would sure as hell get my post count up!

I was just about to post the 'favorite poll, poll'

And just list the 5-6 polls that are on the front page alone.

I know of at least one member who was banned for posting too many polls so I am not sure why the mods are allowing these polls to continue.

Is any poll on here truly relevant or important? That's the question to ponder. I guess it's all subjective really. I'm kind of a newb compared to some of you pros, but this particular portion of the forum kind of seems like this is where you go if you're not looking to be too subject-oriented and just kind of want to eHang.

And all of that is ok, I'm quilty of that myself I suppose like we all are. I don't always want to contribute to an in-depth discussion. I might feel tired and just not in the mood and polls are a nice diversion. I don't have anything at all against them.

I'm just commenting on the fact they are all in a simlar vein recently.....no ingenuity, no insight...just a poll for a poll's sake!

that wasnt why he was banned and they are within the rules. If they are a PITA I suggested to Beta Man to merge all of them in one thread and name it after the user and make reference to his/her survey/poll interests. Doesnt eliminate them just consolidates them

Speaking of which....and this just came to mind as I was reading your post...why not have all threads with polls consolidated in one section? I know, they comprise of various subject matter, but it was a fleeting thought.

+1. I just thought of the same thing. Make a new section that is just for all the polls. Would clear up alot of the clutter. Maybe we should make a poll asking that question!
