I bought the FYE Steelbook about a month ago, I'm so pissed that I didn't wait to get the Best Buy Exclusive Steelbook that's coming out this Tuesday. It has much better cover art.

Same here, my preorder is showing Thursday (10/3) delivery. Sometimes they don't update these things until right before they're shipped though, I'll keep my fingers crossed it delivers with The Shining 4K tomorrow.

saw it in HMV at lunchtime. Really loathe the cover art. It's worse in person. I'll be picking this up at some point this week though if the transfer is as lovely as those caps looked

Isn't that yellow water drop background one of the old Windows 95 wallpapers?

Got my UK copy today.

The blu-ray does appear to be the old disc, as it looks very rough and it's missing some additional features from the Diamond Luxe version too. The only extras on the disc are:

2 Commentaries.
Gremlins Behind The Scenes Featurette.
Additional Footage with optional commentary.
Photo Gallery.
3 Trailers.

Missing from the Luxe version:

Cute, Clever, Mischievous, Intelligent and Dangerous: Making Gremlins.
From Gizmo to Gremlins: Creating the Creatures.
2 Motion Comics.

Aren't the Diamond Luxe special features on digital now?

Anyway wow the 4K absolutely destroys the Blu-ray, which really, always looked like crap so I'm not surprised that the uptick in quality is so massive this time around.

Literally running to the store after work tomorrow to pick up my copy.

I've heard a few people say this but can't confirm because the UK version doesn't come with a digital copy, so anyone in the UK wanting those extra's will have to import the US version or buy the old Luxe version as well.

I thought WB would remaster all their blurays going forward since they've been pretty consistent lately. Guess not.

Those UHD caps look filmicly stunning.

The caps are an impressive. I've always defended the Blu-ray disc and it's filmlike appearance, but this is to another level. It supports my thoughts that we are in an age where home video presentations surpass what one would have seen in a film's theatrical run.

You'd be surprised how many people like watching that type of content, just because people's taste in film doesn't match your dossnt mean they donf know movies or film from various era's. I mostly love thriller action and horror but that mean I dont know anything about any other genre. Oh and yes I do vlog my trips to pickup new releases on youtube,, I dont buy every title nor is a race to have the biggest collection I just love making content for a hobby that I love.

Pretty sure the point he was making was more in relation to the credibility of said reviewers, as they are used on this forum as a yardstick for the quality of a new releases by some, when most discs actually turn out to be great. YouTube reviewers aren’t comprehensive, nor should their word be taken as gospel. It was also just observational humour, not to be taken as serious or a dig.
