From now on, polls from non-regular members will be under extra scrutiny from the mods, and if any of us feel that they are being pitched by market researchers we will lock the threads.

Right now I can see 4 or 5 polls from known overusers of the "add poll" check box.

just curious, why is this such a big deal?

its much easier to see where people views lie (if thats the point of the thread) to make a single poll versus possibly having to dig through pages of responses.

We have been getting a ton of complaints about this, plus the polls come from market researchers. If they want to make a thread and read it, and gather info, there is nothing we can do to stop them. Are we going to make life easy for them? No.
