Overpriced is a matter of opinion. I own 3 Roku TVs and 2 Apple TV boxes (well, technically 3, but I don't count the third). Would I prefer they were cheaper? Sure, but I don't regret the money I spent on them.

I like free apps built into televisions and game consoles myself, and have never been a fan of Apple's proprietary stuff.

But yes you are correct, it is a matter of opinion.
