I'm torn. This is currently my favorite movie of the year, but I still haven't bought the first one as I'm waiting for that extended cut the director promised.

Director can’t release anything until Warner says it’s coming then an extended cut is just fantasy

Part 2 was confirmed to have a DC. I’m sure in the official announcement we
Will know for sure.

Warner has never mentioned one to my knowledge it’s only been Andy whose been speaking on it

The fact they’re leaving deleted scenes out of this release does speak that we will get an extended cut down the road

Part 1 was also said to have a DC by the director if im not mistaken yet that hasn't materialized yet. Until WB themselves (not just the director) specifically say a DC is coming, don't count on it.

I hope the DC materializes sooner than the Snyder cut

A DC for part 2 was confirmed from one of the producers so I’m sure they have more say cause they are producing it.

Well, good luck waiting for that along with the DC of part 1. As others have already said, unless WB themselves say its official, not a director, a producer or the janitor, don't count on it.

I’m not waiting on it I’m going to buy the double set if they release that. Honestly I don’t care cause I’ll bet anything the extra footage has nothing to do with Pennywise so I don’t really care.

This, unfortunately. The last we heard, Andy was in talks with the studio about his "supercut"... but there has been no verdict. Andy's goal is to film two new sequences (one from the book and one that isn't); in addition to those, he will incorporate the deleted scenes to bring this "complete Chapters 1 and 2 extended edition" to an additional hour or so. I'd love for this to happen, but I guess time will tell.

Either way I LOVE Chapter 2 (saw it three times in theaters) and look forward to this release! Easy Day 1.

Really wish Andy Muschietti had never mentioned a director's cut for the first film, what a tease that ended up being. At this point, I'll believe it when I see it.

No Target exclusive to match the first would be a major bummer...

He seems to be interested in doing it and I suppose he wanted to generate interest, so the studio would commission him to do a directors cut. Studios however are less and less invested in physical media.

If it happens I could see this going the route of The Hateful 8 and the two parts getting expanded into a mini-series for a streaming service.

I agree the studios are increasingly less and less invested in physical media, so it would be nice to see this turn up in any format rather than none at all

While I’d love to see it in any format, I’d be disappointed if it doesn’t get a physical release. I’m also bummed the director audio commentary for Chapter 1 was a digital-only release. Anyone have the chance to listen to it?

Well then maybe WB needs to tell their movie directors to not speak of extended cuts until they are ready to release them. They pulled the same crap with Godzilla 2014. And as far as I am concrned, a director is going to know his own movie better than the studio.

But most directors don’t have say so on what gets released escp for movies the directors don’t own as IT has always been a WB property so Andy doesn’t have the power to tell WB anything... he wants to do an extended cut and a super cut and he’s probably telling the public this so there can be a public demand for it but for it being released Andy can say whatever doesn’t mean much until WB puts a press release saying “coming on such and such date “IT The Complete Cut” (or whatever name) combing both movies with new scenes and everything” it just doesn’t mean much

Anyone heard any rumors of Target doing another exclusive lenticular cover to match the first movie?

Outside of John Carpenter's horror genre, Starman is his best movie.

Well then WB is missing out as rare do I spend money on releases when a superior edition has been hinted at. I'll wait five years if I have to and just rent the movie from the library if I suddenly have the urge to watch it.

I’d say seeing how they’re not including any deleted scenes at all on this release give it 6 months after home release they’ll announce a “deluxe” edition so people will have to double dip
