No new transfer for Big Trouble, that’s a hard pass from me. Gotta come stronger if you’re going to charge $25 for an old release that goes for less than $10.

Seriously? This is the same stuff on the great Fox blu-ray, with a few more interviews. The Arrow is already better than this. What's going on Scream Factory? I never try to read them the riot act, but they're not bringing anything new to the table, and I already pre-ordered both the steelbook and the slipcover blus. Now I'm starting to regret it...

To be fair, 12 new interviews and 2 new commentaries are nothing to sneeze at for fans of special features, and from the sounds of things those interviews amount to a couple of hours of footage each. So there is a ton of new content, it's just a shame it's not a new transfer as well. I'm happy with my preorder, but then again I love me some commentaries.

As someone who never picked up any other Blu-Ray of Big Trouble in Little China, I am really looking forward to this. I know I'm in for a treat since it'll be my first time hearing the Carpenter/Russell commentary haha.

And I am so happy that there is a second disc for all those interviews.

True, but I guess I'm speaking as a SF and BTiLC fan who owns both the Arrow and Fox blu-rays. A few new interviews for me I suppose should not be enough for me to make the new purchase, but I do love to support Scream Factory.

And usually I'm not all into the 4K restoration thing, but this will undoubtedly be a 7+ year old transfer. I would've figured this was the first thing we would have received.

But I have to admit, I'm glad they are releasing this if for anything to keep the physical media industry alive and kicking. And I've done my part in buying both

Yes but how old is that transfer? Why is Fox so against doing fresh scans?

There's probably a 4k UHD waiting in the wings. They haven't sold me with all their swag and extras for this release. Love the film though.

AoP13, EFNY, Starman, BTILC and arguably They Live should have all been Shout Select titles. Why they were adopted under the Scream banner, I can't fathom.

I completely agree with this statement. I can only shrug. It would have put the Select line on equal with Scream in my fandom...

Well for starters Shout select didn't even exist when half of those titles were released...

As bb8977said, Shout Select wasn't a thing when most of those were put out. Only Starman and BTILC would've been contenders from your list (and I would add Memoirs from an Invisible Man on there, too).

The other reason is because it's John Carpenter, whom is well known for his horror output; and those titles, while not being horror films, do have elements of horror in them (even if it's not very much).

I really hope Scream picked up Tales from the Darkside in their deal with Paramount. Just watched it for the first time and really enjoyed it.
